Actor Kevin Kline has joined the cast of Frank or Francis for Sony Pictures and writer-director Charlie Kaufman. The comedy is a parody of Hollywood musicals which centers around the online war between a successful filmmaker (Steve Carell) and a snarky blogger (Jack Black). Kevin Kline will play Richard Waller, the brother of fictional filmmaker Jonathan Waller, whose movie Hiroshima is the highest-grossing movie of all time. In a bizarre twist, Kevin Kline will also play Richard’s Head, an animatronic head loaded with advanced screenwriting techniques which Jonathan uses to make broad Hollywood movies with no artistic integrity....

MGM will be putting the story of one of history’s most notorious cult leaders on the big screen. The studio has just given the greenlight to Jim Jones, a new movie starring Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio as the infamous religious cult leader who orchestrated the mass suicide at Jonestown in 1978, claiming more than 900 lives. The Disney Channel has released the opening credit sequence for their highly-anticipated new series Girl Meets World, premiering Friday, June 27 at 9:45 PM ET. Boy Meets World stars Ben Savage and Danielle Fishel return as Corey and Topanga in this spin-off, now married adults raising their daughter Riley (Rowan Blanchard). HBO Max is currently developing a Head of the Class reboot series. The upcoming streaming platform has given a pilot production order, along with five additional scripts. The original series ran from 1986 to 1991 on ABC and focused on a group of gifted students in an honors program at the fictional Millard Fillmore High School in Manhattan, led by their history teacher Charlie Moore (Howard Hesseman). HBO Max is set to debut at the end of this month....

Antoine Fuqua is an action/thriller director who makes films that are mostly about men with violent pasts they have tried to leave behind, only to be pulled back into action and violence by circumstances beyond their control. They are brutal, but they are heroes — and they are war machines, capable of taking down entire armies. His films often contain epic battles and incredible shootouts with high body counts, with an unstoppable protagonist who kills everyone standing in the way of justice and honor....

When André Gregory and Wallace Shawn of My Dinner With Andre visited the coveted Criterion Closet, they briefly spoke of an eternity where you could only watch ten movies from a single film director’s filmography. Ultimately, and without much explanation, Shawn proposed and Gregory agreed with Claude Chabrol: the “French Hitchcock” and director of Les Bonnes Femmes, Le Boucher, and La Cérémonie, among celebrated others. While the answer is based in merit, it discounts the perpetuity of the question: watching French women get murdered is a repetitive and questionable way to pass the time forever, but it’s a good thought experiment that warrants further exploration and a myriad of proposals....

Freddy Krueger is one of the most iconic names in horror. When A Nightmare on Elm Street hit theaters in 1984, the Wes Craven flick changed the way the public saw horror movies. Thanks to Freddy as well as Jason Voorhees, slasher films were dominating the box office. So much so, that Krueger was essentially a rock star. Everything from a syndicated television series to merchandise (lunch boxes, kids’ dolls, and so much more) were produced....
