Jim Carrey is back on TV with Showtime’s Comedy series Kidding as a Mister Rogers-like character who runs into some trouble as his life implodes. The 10-episode series reunites the actor with Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind writer/director Michel Gondry and the trailer looks pretty awesome with the director’s unique visuals adding to the absurdity and sudden darkness going on in Mr. Pickles’ (Jim Carrey) life. This is the first time that Carrey has starred in a television show since he was on In Living Color back in the early 1990s....

Last year, FX’s hit series Justified came to an end after six critically-acclaimed seasons. Of course, for many shows, the end is never really final, with streaming services like Netflix bringing beloved shows back from the dead like Arrested Development, Full House and the upcoming Gilmore Girls revival sprouting up in recent years. As it turns out, Justified star Walton Goggins, who played the scheming Boyd Crowder, isn’t ready to let go of the character quite yet, and wants to return for a limited series run....

Kaley Cuoco is looking back at the one year anniversary of The Big Bang Theory series finale. The massively successful series ran for 12 seasons on CBS. The one-hour series finale tied up all of the loose ends and it was a very emotional time for the cast, along with the fans who had spent over a decade watching their favorite characters develop over time, while going through major milestones in their own lives....

Kathy Bates, Tim Curry, Colm Meaney and Philip Winchester have been set to join Sci Fi’s four-hour miniseries Alice, which stars Caterina Scorsone (Starz’s Crash) in the title role. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the mini-series is a modern-day take on Lewis Carroll’s classic, is in production in Vancouver, B.C., for a December 2009 premiere. Bates plays the Queen of Hearts, Curry plays Dodo, Colm Meaney plays the King of Hearts and “Crusoe” star Winchester plays the Jack of Hearts....

Music is an essential part of the movie industry. A soundtrack, down to the last backing instrumental for a scene, could make or break a movie. Of course, traditional movie musicals rely more heavily on the songs, but, either way, music can change the perception of a scene, the overall vibe of the film, or could be the main source with which information is being conveyed. Len Wiseman is set to develop and direct a film adaptation of the graphic novel Shrapnel for Radical Pictures, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Wiseman said he was browsing comic-book stores with his 10-year-old daughter, Lily, when he happened upon the comic the day it hit shelves. He quickly had his agent at ICM scout the rights. The graphic novel, which Radical Publishing teased at last year’s Comic-Con, describes a sci-fi future where humans have colonized the solar system and formed a Solar Alliance to govern the planets....

Lifetime Television launches its fall season with a powerful Lifetime Original Movie event starring Academy Award and Golden Globe Award-winning actress Kim Basinger (“L.A. Confidential,” The Door in the Floor) as a restless wife and mother consumed with forbidden love for a Benedictine monk and the crisis and self-awakening it ignites within her in an adaptation of Sue Monk Kidd’s explosive best seller, The Mermaid Chair. The movie airs during a special three-night premiere beginning Saturday, September 9 at 9PM, followed by encore presentations on Sunday, September 10 at 8PM and Monday, September 11 at 9PM....

Lena Dunham’s hit HBO series Girls returns with all new Season 3 episodes on Sunday, January 12 at 9 PM ET with the two-part premiere “Females Only” and “Truth or Dare”. The network has released the first clip from the season premiere, where Hannah (Lena Dunham) hosts a dinner party for her friends, with Adam (Adam Driver) stuck as the only male at the table. In addition, we also have two photos from Sunday night’s episode, along with the official plot description....

Season 11 of The Big Bang Theory went out in true style last night with a ton of guest stars for the wedding between Sheldon and Amy, including Mark Hamill, who played himself and officiated the wedding. The Star Wars actor is a huge fan of the sitcom and was happy that they asked him to join in on the festivities. As for welcoming Hamill to the set, the cast and crew of The Big Bang Theory share their thoughts in a new behind-the-scenes featurette that was recently released....

When taking on the role of cannibalistic serial killer Hannibal Lecter in the NBC series Hannibal, actor Mads Mikkelsen had some rather large shoes to fill. Anthony Hopkins had delivered a legendary performance of the character in The Silence of the Lambs and its sequels that couldn’t ever be replicated. Mikkelsen was tasked with making the role unique as a new version of the character for the NBC series, and surprised everyone with a fantastic performance of his own....

Netflix’s newest rom-com Do Revenge is one of the best releases on the streaming service. It is definitely not like any other film, and sets new standards for upcoming teen comedies. This particular film by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson might remind some of the phenomenal 2020 comedy thriller, Promising Young Woman. Even if Do Revenge does contain a certain amount of tropes, like the popular group, the popular girl, and the very cliche makeovers and romantic scenes, it does not let them overshadow the brilliance of the plot....

The Beastie Boys were one of the hottest musical acts of the 1980s and 1990s. The band formed in New York City in 1981 and was made up of Michael “Mike D” Diamond, Adam “MCA” Yauch, and Adam “Ad-Rock” Horovitz. The Beastie Boys gained a larger audience when they opened for Madonna on her tour in 1985. The following year, their debut album Licensed to Ill was released and became the first rap album to reach number one on the Billboard 200 chart....

Spoiler Warning: Thor: Love and Thunder Thor: Love and Thunder was likely the funniest installment in the God of Thunder’s solo MCU films. It is possible that the film, directed by Taika Waititi, who also directed the film’s equally raucous predecessor, Thor: Ragnarok, was the funniest overall film in the history of the MCU. However, Love and Thunder isn’t all screaming goats and orgiastic Olympians. Thor: Love and Thunder may be as macabre as it is hilarious....

Veteran actor Howard Hesseman has passed away. Per Variety, the prolific character actor, who’s best known for his role on the classic series WKRP in Cincinnati, died on Saturday at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles due to complications from colon surgery he’d undergone last summer. The actor was 81 years old. “Howard was a groundbreaking talent and lifelong friend whose kindness and generosity was equaled by his influence and admiration to generations of actors and improvisational comedy throughout the world,” Hesseman’s longtime rep Robbie Kass said in a statement....

As big of an event that Comic-Con is, not everyone is able to make it. Some can’t afford the trip, some may have a wedding that weekend and some, like director D.J. Caruso and writers/producers Robert Orci and Alex Kurtzman have other issues.. like finishing their latest film, Eagle Eye, before its September 26 release date. So, a day before departing to San Diego, I headed up to Amblin Entertainment for a nifty little pre-Comic-Con event where Caruso, Orci and Kurtzman, after some brief introductory remarks, showcased the first two reels for myself and fellow online journalists....
