The last few weeks have been pretty bizarre for followers of KFC’s social media accounts. At the end of June, the accounts starting posting about the soap opera General Hospital exclusively, recapping episodes. As it turns out, it was all a clever (and head scratching) media stunt to promote National Fried Chicken Day with a guest appearance by George Hamilton as Colonel Sanders on the daytime show. Not only did the Colonel make a special appearance on General Hospital, but he also revealed some new skillsets that we were unfamiliar with....

The hit comedy show Letterkenny just made a very huge announcement that they will be back on Hulu with a brand new tenth season. The official premiere date is set for December 26th, 2021. If you are not familiar with this Canadian comedy, you can catch up on all the seasons which are currently streaming on Hulu. Letterkenny revolves around a small rural Canadian community with the same name. The series focuses on two siblings Wayne and Katy, who run a small farm and produce stand with help from Wayne’s friends Daryl and Squirrely Dan....

Get ready for some futuristic fun in a next-generation format. Gattaca will be released in the Blu-Ray format on March 11. The film stars Ethan Hawke, Uma Thurman and Jude Law. New Zealand screenwriter Andrew Niccol (The Truman Show) made his feature directorial debut with this science fiction drama, set in a future when one’s life is determined by genetic engineering rather than education or experience. The wealthy can choose the genetic makeup of their descendants....

Ticket to Paradise is off to a hot start overseas as it opens to 76 markets, bringing in roughly $72 million ahead of its domestic debut. The romantic comedy starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts may signify a resurgence of the genre, and Clooney is happy Universal chose to bring the film to theaters. “Universal did a very brave thing,” Clooney told The Hollywood Reporter about the theatrical release. “These things are only going on streamers now, and they did a very brave thing to make a movie like this....

Academy Award-winning director George Miller has provided further insight into his upcoming epic fantasy romance, Three Thousand Years of Longing, describing it as the “anti-Mad Max” movie. While Miller most recently exploded onto big screens everywhere with the dialogue-light, white-knuckle action extravaganza that is Mad Max: Fury Road, the filmmaker has revealed to Deadline how different Three Thousand Years of Longing is to the post-apocalyptic franchise. Continuing, Miller explained what he means by the movie being the “anti-Mad Max,” with Three Thousand Years of Longing swapping heart-pounding action sequences for what will surely be an equally heart-pounding…conversation....

Might we see Giancarlo Esposito return in the fourth season of The Boys? As it stands, the status of his character, Stan Edgar, is unclear. The character had served as the head of Vought International since the start of the series, but he might have set up his own downfall by running afoul of Homelander (Antony Starr). In a series that’s very unpredictable, it seems possible Esposito could return as Stan in the next season, but it hasn’t been confirmed one way or another if he will be involved....

Haley Joel Osment has joined the cast of IFC’s six-episode mini-series The Spoils of Babylon. This story, told in the same vein as The Winds of War and The Thorn Birds, follows the Morehouse family, who struck it rich in the oil business. We reported last week that Tobey Maguire and Kristen Wiig are starring as Devon Morehouse and Cynthia Morehouse, who now run the family business. Despite Devon being adopted by Cynthia’s father Jonas at a young age, both he and Cynthia are fighting romantic feelings they have for one another....

Two major theatrical releases went head to head on DVD, and they each won… in different categories. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix ended up as the biggest seller, while The Bourne Ultimatum was the top rental, in the week ending December 16. The split-decision wasn’t all that surprising, since the films combined for a total theatrical haul of $519 million. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix outsold both The Bourne Ultimatum other notable newbie High School Musical 2 in third place....

Kit Connor, star of the Netflix series Heartstopper, says he was recently “forced” to come out as bisexual. The actor plays Nick Nelson opposite Joe Locke, who plays Charlie Spring in the series. The show follows their two characters as they discover their unlikely friendship might be something more as they navigate school and young love in the series. Connor recently took to his Twitter account, where he expressed his frustration toward the discussion of his sexuality following his appearance on Heartstopper....

Somehow, Herk Harvey directed the low-budget classic Carnival of Souls for $33,000. It’s an incredible film that has inspired many low-budget horror favorites as well as being a kind of guide to how to make a great movie with virtually no money. After aesthetically impacting filmmakers like George A. Romero and David Lynch, six decades later, the film continues to influence DIY horror movies around the world. Herk Harvey worked for the Centron Corporation in Kansas, directing hundreds of educational and industrial films over his career, which were used by corporations and the government for training and public awareness purposes....

Cartoon Network announced today that DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc.’s critically acclaimed feature film, How to Train Your Dragon, will be coming to the network as a weekly series in both domestic and international regions beginning in 2012. A success with audiences and critics alike, this epic adventure-comedy about a young Viking and his unlikely friendship with a dragon has grossed nearly $500 million at the worldwide box office to date and will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on October 15, 2010....

What made Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man movies so good was the sheer amount of fun the audience could tell that Sam Raimi was having. The world in the films is goofy and melodramatic, but it is all the better for it. Although they are certainly “grittier” than the other two Spider-Man movie series, there is still a playfulness to them that continues to endear fans even with the advent of the highly successful MCU and the acclaimed Tom Holland....

The Iron Fist season 2 trailer has arrived. Star Finn Jones was on hand at San Diego Comic-Con, alongside some of his Marvel Netflix co-stars, to tease what’s to come in Hell’s Kitchen on the small screen at the biggest pop culture event of the year.
