IMAX Corporation, NASA and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that IMAX 3D cameras will return to space to document one of NASA’s most complex space shuttle operations - the final service of the Hubble Space Telescope (HST), STS-125. The IMAX 3D cameras are set to launch on board the Space Shuttle Atlantis on May 11th, 2009. The astronauts will operate the IMAX cameras and will film the five intricate and difficult spacewalks required to service Hubble....

The story revolves around a man suffering from bipolar disorder, struggling to take care of his two daughters while his wife starts her own career. Jason Priestley has signed on to direct the romantic comedy Mud Puppy, from Angel Entertainment and Lexico Prods. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film centers on a playboy wine-lover battling a female environmentalist for control of a frog-plagued wine vineyard. Mud Puppy is based on a true story about a British Columbia vineyard overcome by pesky amphibians. Monica Hilborn penned the script. No word on casting. Production is set for summer 2011....

Per Deadline, the Peacemaker star has just landed the lead role in Coyote vs. Acme, a live-action/animation hybrid set in the Looney Tunes universe. Dave Green directs the feature using a screenplay by Samy Burch. The concept of the film is inspired by the New Yorker article “Coyote v. Acme” by Ian Frazier. Coyote vs. Acme follows Wile E. Coyote, who “after ACME products fail him one too many times in his dogged pursuit of the Roadrunner, decides to hire a billboard lawyer to sue the ACME Corporation....
Kevin Smith announced today that actor John Goodman has joined the cast of his upcoming horror film Red State, which began shooting in and around the Los Angeles area this week. The news was announced on actor Ralph Garman’s Babble-On podcast, where Kevin Smith proclaimed himself to be a longtime fan of John Goodman’s work. The plot of the movie, which Kevin Smith wrote, follows a group of teenagers who encounter a terrifying fundamentalist preacher based on the real life Fred Phelps, leader of the Westboro Baptist Church....
Black Diamond Pictures and Slo Hand Releasing have set a May 4th release at 1,000 theaters for the gory thriller, September Dawn. Jon Voight and Terence Stamp star in the film based on the 1857 Mountain Meadows Massacre; Voight plays a Mormon bishop, while Stamp plays Brigham Young, says Variety. Also in the cast are Lolita Davidovich, Dean Cain, Trent Ford, Tamara Hope, John Gries, Taylor Handley, Krisinda Cain and Shaun Johnston....
