John Hillcoat, director of the upcoming Cormac McCarthy adaptation The Road, has jumped behind the lens of The Wettest Country in the World. According to Variety, the film will be produced by Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher through Red Wagon and Columbia Pictures. The screenplay is based on Matt Bondurant’s upcoming novel of the same name. The upcoming sequel, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, continues to round out its cast, adding Jessica Jones star Eka Darville and X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Locke and Key star Kevin Durand to the roster. According to The Hollywood Reporter, producers Eric Eisner (Hamlet 2), Gil Adler (Superman Returns), and Shane McCarthy are teaming up to make Havana Nocturne. The film will tell the story of gangsters in Cuba in the 1950’s. The script will be based on T.J. English’s New York Times bestseller. It follows American gangsters in Batista’s Cuba. Just three days before Season 3 of Girls is set to debut on HBO, the network issued an early renewal for Season 4. The announcement was made during the network’s panel at the Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter Tour by the network’s executive vice president Casey Bloys. Production on Season 4 will begin this summer, with the season to premiere in 2015. It isn’t known how many episodes the network ordered, although HBO will likely follow suit with previous renewals and order 10 more episodes....
