John Carpenter just dropped something big on fans today. On Thursday, the famed director and musician tweeted a special video, tagging Shout Factory and its various side companies (Scream Factory, TokuSHOUTsu, Scream Factory, and Shout Cult). The tweet in question can be viewed below. The video is a simple one. Carpenter enters an empty movie theater, rubs his hands in excitement, and watches the screen as a projector starts up. It won’t be long for Johnny Depp fans to catch the next appearance of the actor. Over the past few years, Depp’s career had stalled due to a legal battle with ex-wife Amber Heard. Depp came out victorious in a defamation trial with Heard earlier this year and has since been getting his career in show business back on track, having vindicated himself in the eyes of many due to the verdict....

We’ve been smacked with yet another rumor concerning the comic book film world. This time, its Showbizspy.com claiming that Lost’s Josh Holloway is going to be playing Gambit in a fourth X-Men movie. If this is true, that means 20th Century Fox is, in fact, taking another stab at the X-Men franchise, which has been very profitable for them. The original word on the street was that they were through with the series, and were instead going to focus on one-off features revolving around Wolverine and Magneto....

Fox411 spoke to actor Bill Nighy and has learned that a not terribly sober Keith Richards of the Rolling Stones has filmed his cameo as Johnny Depp’s swashbuckling dad in Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End which is shooting in Palmdale, California. Nighy wasn’t on set when Richards came for his big Hollywood moment, but he more or less confirmed a tale that Fox411 had heard earlier: Richards, no stranger to substances and liquids, was left to his own devices in his trailer before his big scene....

Jared Harris has signed on for a major recurring role in AMC’s upcoming third season of Mad Men. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Harris also has been added to the cast of CBS Films’ untitled Crowley project for director Tom Vaughan. In a 10-episode arc on the acclaimed period drama Mad Men, set at the 1960s-era Sterling Cooper Advertising Agency, Harris will play Lane Pryce, the agency’s financial officer. Harris begins filming today on the Lionsgate TV-produced series, which began production on its new season Monday for an August premiere....
