The world of animation is forced to say goodbye to a true legend today. June Foray, best known for her work on The Rocky and Bullwinkle Show and Looney Tunes, has passed away at the age of 99. The exact cause of her death has not yet been revealed. Variety was the first to break the news of June Foray’s passing, which comes just eight weeks before what would have been her 100th birthday The news was confirmed by her close friend Dave Nimitz on Facebook....

We reported last month that there was a possibility of Wanted 2 continuing without Angelina Jolie, and now they might have found her replacement. E! Online is reporting that Kristen Stewart could replace Jolie in Wanted 2. The site reports that both the studio and director Timur Bekmambetov were interested in Stewart, who would play a new assassin in the Fraternity. It was said that, while an official offer to Stewart hasn’t been made, she has met with Bekmambetov at least once....

Dune, which released towards the end of last year, already featured an all-star cast of A-list actors. Acorn TV has released the trailer for Help, a harrowing Covid-centric drama starring Jodie Comer and Stephen Graham. Japanese film director, producer, screenwriter, and editor, Hirokazu Kore-eda’s new drama series The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House recently dropped on Netflix. In light of releasing his first show for the streaming service, the director took the time to speak with The Hollywood Reporter about exploring the world of Japanese geisha as part of his preparation for the series. Kore-eda served as The Makanai’s producer, showrunner, and co-writer. He also directed some of the show’s episodes and oversaw the aspiring Japanese creatives who ran the additional episodes....

In a story from Variety Paramount Pictures has tapped Jeremy Garelick (The Hangover) to rewrite and direct Baywatch. This will be a bigscreen comedy that is based on the popular show about lifeguards who patrol the beaches of California. This will be Garelick’s directing debut. It also looks like this movie will get made due to the show’s “built-in global brand awareness that studios look for in potential franchises.” Apparently, DreamWorks put up seven figures for the remake rights in 2005....

Actor Jerry O’Connell is returning to CBS with an untitled parenting comedy from Jeff Astrof and author Adam Mansbach. The story will center on a writer who unexpectedly becomes a parenting expert after his tongue-in-cheek book becomes a surprise hit. The show will be loosely based on Adam Mansbach’s book, Go The F**k* to Sleep, which is described as a “bedtime book for parents.” Jeff Astrof and Adam Mansbach will write the pilot script....

Jessica Alba’s pregnancy has gotten a lot of attention, and people have invariably wondered if the star’s new status as “mommy” would make her more inclined to portray her character from Fantastic Four as a mother.
