Don’t count on seeing Jon Bernthal return for another season of American Gigolo at Showtime. It has just been announced, via Deadline, that Paramount Global has axed the series after one season. The move comes as part of the network’s restructuring under the watch of new top executive Chris McCarthy. With the show’’s axing comes the cancelations of two other projects, as Let the Right One In has also been canceled after one season....

According to Variety, Kirsten Dunst will play Marla Ruzicka in a film about the 28-year-old American relief worker who was killed in Iraq by a suicide bomber. Lorene Scafaria has been set to write the script. Marc Platt is producing with MTV Films. The studio and the producers made a deal last summer for Ruzicka’s life rights, as well as a book that’s being written about her by Jennifer Abrahamson. Abrahamson had planned to collaborate on the book with Ruzicka, and they had turned out a number of pages that were going to serve as a book proposal....

There’s not going to be a second season of Let the Right One In, at least not at Showtime. Per Deadline, it’s just been revealed that the vampire series has been canceled after one season. The series first premiered on Showtime in October before concluding its freshman season in December, and its future had been uncertain in subsequent weeks. Let the Right One In has reportedly fallen victim to a new programming strategy for Showtime moving forward under the guidance of new exec Chris McCarthy....

Lin-Manuel Miranda has signed on for a crucial guest-starring role in the upcoming series Percy Jackson and the Olympians from Disney+. Miranda, himself a fan of the book series and his young son, will play the Greek God Hermes. It seems as though he’ll be showing up much sooner in the adaptation because, in the books, Hermes didn’t make an appearance until the second installment, The Sea of Monsters. As a refresher, the series is about a 12-year-old demigod named Percy Jackson (Walter Scobell), who winds up at Camp Half-Blood, a place for all the other children of the gods to train and be safe from monsters....

Hallmark has announced that they are severing ties with Lori Loughlin after she was arrested and released on $1 million bail earlier this week. Loughlin and her husband Mossimo Giannulli allegedly agreed to pay bribes of $500,000 in exchange for having their two daughters designated as recruits to the USC crew team. However, both daughters were never a part of the crew team. Loughlin’s daughter, YouTuber Olivia Jade has also been dropped by makeup brand Sephora due to the bribery controversy....

Harrison Ford turned 65 last Friday and Indiana Jones 4 co-executive producer Kathleen Kennedy says that although it has been 18 years since Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Ford can live up to the physical rigors of the globe-trotting archaeologist, according to The Associated Press. Ford is doing many of his own stunts in the film. “He’s doing them, he just has a few more ice packs and a few more massages,” Kennedy said....

Disney’s live-action Hercules remake has found its director with Guy Ritchie taking the helm, and with the project moving forward, Danny DeVito fans have sprung into action with a movement to get him cast in the film. In the animated version of Hercules, released by Disney in 1997, DeVito provided the voice of Philoctetes, aka Phil. Fans very much love DeVito in this role, and with the film’s transition into live-action, many feel he’d be just as perfect as Phil in the new movie as well....

However, as the hilarious comedian Aziz Ansari noted in a well-publicized rant/joke last year, this new Digital IMAX 3D that has sprouted up in numerous theaters across the country, isn’t REAL IMAX 3D, not by a long shot. While these new IMAX screens are larger than the traditional movie screen, they still pale in comparison to a real IMAX screen and thankfully I got to see Hubble 3D the way it was meant to be seen, and, man, is it ever astonishing....

Hugh Jackman is no longer in discussions to star with Catherine Zeta-Jones in Cleo, the Steven Soderbergh-directed 3-D live action musical. According to Variety, no deal had been signed as the ambitious $30 million project is completing its financing, but Soderbergh asked his Traffic star Zeta-Jones to play Cleopatra and wanted new Oscar host Jackman to play her lover, the Roman general Marc Antony. Discussions are reportedly in the works for the role of Julius Caesar to be played by Ray Winstone, the Beowulf star who just completed shooting the Martin Campbell-directed Edge of Darkness with Mel Gibson....

The Wolverine is back as Hugh Jackman gets back in the gym to once again sport the muscular frame of the beloved X-Men character. It has now been confirmed that Jackman will reprise the role of Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3, an announcement that came as a huge surprise to Marvel fans, with the actor now taking to Instagram to share an image and a reel of himself pumping iron in preparation....

Lori Loughlin’s daughter, Olivia Jade Giannulli, is all set to break her silence on Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk. Smith recently welcomed Giannulli on the show, which will stream tomorrow (Tuesday, December 8th). Both of Giannulli’s parents are currently serving short prison sentences after pleading guilty in the college admissions scandal. Loughlin and her husband, Mossimo Giannulli, paid fixer William “Rick” Singer $500,000 in bribes to get both Olivia Jade and their oldest daughter, 22-year old Isabella Rose, into the University of Southern California....
