Lauren Cohan is teasing a possible Maggie spin-off after The Walking Dead comes to an end. Fans of the hit AMC show were shocked to hear that it was coming to an end at the conclusion of season 11. However, there are still a lot more episodes on the way, especially since they extended season 10. The original final episode of the season 10 will premiere on October 4th and it sees Cohan’s Maggie character return for the first time since season 9....
Jacob Batalon’s Ned Leeds, who started as the guy in the chair for Spider-Man in Homecoming, has grown as close as the brother to the web-crawler. The character takes Harry Osborn’s place in the MCU as Spidey’s closest confidante, and for the course of three films, he has been a loyal accomplice to Spidey’s missions. Not only the bond the two characters share is joyous to watch, but it’s also a treat to see Ned grow into a much more essential aspect of the franchise throughout the trilogy....
MGM has big plans for 007 now that the studio is back on its feet. In a report stemming from yesterday’s news that MGM had filed for bankruptcy, rejecting Lionsgate’s bid for a takeover, Bloomberg confirms that MGM is fully commited to shooting James Bond 23 in the next two years, and that it will be ready for release in November of 2012. The studio will retain fifty percent of the rights to the Bond franchise, with MGM set to release a new 007 adventure every other year starting with James Bond 23’s release in 2012....
It’s looking like Tom Hardy is still leading the way with bookies to be cast as the next James Bond, though the two runners-up have seen considerable improvements since last month. According to betting aggregators US-Bookies.com, Idris Elba improved from 18/1 (5.3% implied probability) to 11/2 (15.4%), while Henry Cavill improved from 16/1 (5.9%) to 6/1 (14.3%). Hardy remains the 3/1 favorite (25%). “Idris Elba and Henry Cavill have been on fans’ and bookies’ radars for some time, but their recent improvements come at a time when the Bond producers mentioned wanting the next star to be a British male of any ethnicity,” says a US-Bookies spokesperson....
After spending plenty of time in front of the camera for the horror genre, actor Patrick Wilson will step behind it for the upcoming sequel Insidious: Fear the Dark. The fifth installment of the Insidious movie series, the film is set for a Summer 2023 release. While Wilson returns to reprise his role in the series as Josh Lambert, he simultaneously serves as director, making his directorial debut. In a new interview with THR, producer Jason Blum commented on Wilson’s transition to the director’s chair....

Night Court was a much-beloved sitcom that ran on NBC from 1984 to 1992. Man of Steel director Zack Snyder recently spoke out about the musical score and the how he wants the new film to depart from the originals. Apparently, he and composer Hans Zimmer are pretending that no other Superman movies in order to move away from John Williams’ original theme. In a recent interview with Total Film, the director elaborated his point about creating an entirely new Superman. “We had to say this is a Superman movie for the first time and you can’t then go ‘Oh, now let’s steal a little music’… So, yes it’s awesome music but Hans Zimmer is going to do something awesome....
A new source claiming to be from inside Marvel has recently spoken up to leak all sorts of news about what’s happening with the development of their superhero movies, including the fact that Iron Man 2 director Jon Favreau is the presumptive director for The Avengers. The source, who spoke to Ain’t It Cool News also gave an update on several other projects, including Iron Man 2, Thor and Fox’s plans for the Daredevil and Fantastic Four franchises....
Jude Law is confirmed to star in the new Disney+ original, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The news came amidst a flurry of announcements during the Star Wars Celebration in Anaheim. The series is being developed by the Spider-Man trilogy director, Jon Watts, and with him is Christopher Ford, the writer of Spider-Man: Homecoming. The show was discussed in minor detail in a report from Vanity Fair earlier this month. At the time, the code name for the show was Grammar Rodeo, referencing an episode of The Simpsons....
Justin Kurzel, the director of the 2015 movie Macbeth, starring Michael Fassbender, is coming to the big screen with a new thriller, according to a report from Deadline. King Richard’s screenwriter Zach Baylin, nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, will adapt and pen the script. The Order will be adapted from Kevin Flynn’s 1989 book The Silent Brotherhood. The book tells the dreadful story of the most dangerous fascist underground terrorist organization in US history....

George Carlin, the dean of counterculture comedians whose biting insights on life and language were immortalized in his “Seven Words You Can Never Say On TV” routine, died of heart failure Sunday. He was 71. Carlin went into a Santa Monica hospital Sunday afternoon complaining of chest pain and died later that evening, said his publicist, Jeff Abraham. Carlin, who had a history of heart trouble, performed as recently as last weekend at the Orleans Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas....
