Entertainment Weekly is reporting that James Cameron had started making plans for a sequel to Avatar during production. The director stated, “I’ve had a storyline in mind from the start - there are even scenes in Avatar that I kept in because they lead to the sequel. It just makes sense to think of it as a two or three film arc, in terms of the business plan. The CG plants and trees and creatures and the musculo-skeletal rigging of the main characters - that all takes an enormous amount of time to create....

Sad news has come in to report as Jean-Marc Vallée has died. Per Deadline, the Dallas Buyers Club director reportedly passed away suddenly at his cabin outside Quebec City, shocking his family and close advisors. A cause of death hasn’t been disclosed at this time beyond that it was sudden with no apparent warning signs. Vallée was 58 years old. “Jean-Marc stood for creativity, authenticity and trying things differently," said producing partner Nathan Ross....

“Camp is the Word” says writer/producer Jackie Linder Olson of the upcoming comedy-horror film, The Caretaker, that caught the eyes of Jennifer Tilly, Judd Nelson and a fantastic group of teenage up-and-comers. The Caretaker follows a group of teenage boys out to give their girlfriends a good scare on Halloween. They head to an abandoned house in a grapefruit orchard where they are stalked by a real life urban legend, known as ‘The Caretaker....

Veteran actress Joanne Linville has passed away. Famous for her role as a Romulan commander in a classic episode of Star Trek among many other screen credits, Linville reportedly died on Sunday. Her death was announced by the talent agency CAA, but a cause of death was not revealed. She was 93 years old. Linville’s life story begins on Jan. 15, 1928, when she was born as Beverly Joanne Linville in Bakersfield, California....

During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Joanne Whalley sat down to discuss the legacy of her Willow character and more on what to expect in the sequel. Whalley plays Sorsha, who, in the 1988 film, is the daughter of the evil Queen Bavmorda (Jean Marsh). However, she ends up falling in love with Madmartigan (Val Kilmer) and switches to the side of good. Sorsha was inspiring to many young women because she wasn’t a damsel in distress, and what Whalley liked about that was how it wasn’t a big deal....

The new sequel Halloween Ends is days away from its release in theaters and on Peacock, and for the first time since the original movie was released in 1978, Kyle Richards and Jamie Lee Curtis are sharing the screen once again as Lindsey Wallace and Laurie Strode. Leatherface is a completely different story. Perhaps it’s because The Texas Chainsaw Massacre comes out of our own reality, or maybe it’s because we never really got to know Leatherface as intimately as we did the others, but actor Gunnar Hansen infused this deadly being with such a low regard for his victims, that we are drawn to Leatherface for the same reason he repels and scares us....

The cast of an upcoming comedy spin-off is starting to round out its cast. According to Entertainment Weekly, Rose Byrne, Elizabeth Moss and Sean “Diddy” Combs have all come aboard Get Him to the Greek for Universal Pictures.
