We’re all very well aware that Robert Downey Jr. is the perfect Tony Stark in the MCU, and probably no one could have portrayed the character better. Indeed, the Iron Man franchise, specifically the success of its 2008 origin movie, is one of the main reasons why the MCU exists as we know and love it today — and a lot of that is owed to Downey himself. Of course, prior to Iron Man being released, comic book superhero movies weren’t necessarily always the blockbuster giants as they are today....

Paramount finally confirmed today something that Star Trek fans have wanted to know for a few years; that J.J. Abrams will be producing the sequel to Star Trek Beyond with Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg and John Cho all set to boldly go where they have been three times before. A fourth entry in the rebooted Star Trek franchise was originally discussed six years ago, but for a while, there had been no word on whether a new Star Trek movie would be moving forward until today....

The 10-year-old on doing his own stunts and working with Richard Dreyfuss When you think of kid actors, Dakota Fanning comes to mind. But there’s another young actor edging up on her plateau, Jimmy Bennett. He’s only 10 years old, but he’s already starred in some major motion pictures including last year’s The Amityville Horror and Hostage, and then this year’s Firewall with Harrison Ford and Virginia Madsen. It turns out, because of Harrison he got his next job - Poseidon....

Cinema had a pretty good year in 2011. The summer saw an onslaught of costumed hero flicks, which to my great surprise were all pretty good. Hollywood has turned off the cheese factor on comic adaptations, lining up great directors and better actors. The biggest surprise of 2011 was the remarkable success of The Artist, a charming silent film by French director Michael Hazanavicius. Since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, it has been a critical and awards favorite....

MGM has acquired Adam Green’s screenplay Killer Pizza for Raffaella De Laurentiis to produce. We first reported on this project back in May of 2010. The story, adapted from Greg Taylor’s novel, follows a 14-year-old boy who lands a summer job at a pizzeria dubbed Killer Pizza. The teenager soon discovers that the pizza place is actually a front for a monster-hunting organization. Chris Columbus brought the project to MGM, which had been looking for a movie similar to Gremlins and The Goonies....

Killing Eve delighted fans for three years with a murderous assassin-filled cat-and-mouse tale fueled by strong feminine energy. Then the global pandemic hit, causing production to come to a screeching halt. From the end of season 3 in March 2022 until almost two years later, we were left wondering what was in store for these now-beloved characters. After the two-year hiatus, the show’s creators and cast decided they wanted to end the show after season four instead of dragging out a belabored storyline....

Kristen Stewart was injured earlier this week while on the set of her upcoming revisionist fairytale Snow White and the Huntsman. Though the actress wasn’t seriously hurt, production did come to a halt on the Rupert Sanders directed production, with most of the crew and all of the cast being sent home. There are no further details about the accident, or how severely Kristen Stewart was hurt. The incident is being described as “minor” by some of the crew that was there when it happened....

Australian Director John Hillcoat has made quite a career of portraying families surviving dire threats. His adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s ‘The Road’ is one of the bleakest films I have ever seen. My favorite Hillcoat film is The Proposition, a riveting western by screenwriter Nick Cave. Cave and Hillcoat collaborate again for their latest feature, the film adaptation of the novel, The Wettest County in the World. Lawless, is the true story of the Bondurant Brothers and their bootlegging business in prohibition era Virginia....

It’s only been a few weeks since Game of Thrones Season 6 came to a close, with fans now starting the agonizing wait for Season 7. The lengthy haul between seasons can feel as long as a Westeros winter, but thankfully we have a few things to tide us over. Earlier this week, HBO debuted a video featuring Samuel L. Jackson offering a concise and hilarious recap of the first six seasons of the HBO series, and today, we have another tiny tidbit to tide us over in the off-season, which involves Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane (Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson)....

Whoopi Goldberg’s recent controversy has many recalling what happened with Gina Carano and The Mandalorian, along with how each of the two dealt with very different consequences. At the start of the week, Goldberg had remarked on The View that the Holocaust was “not about race,” prompting an outcry against her. While Goldberg apologized on social media and on the program, ABC announced that she would also be suspended for two weeks....

Times have been tough for Brett Butler lately, and the actress has opened up on why she’s broke and relying on help from fans to cover her bills. Smallville fans can breathe a sigh of relief - in the wake of numerous departures from the show for the upcoming Eighth Season, Justin Hartley (who plays Green Arrow/Oliver Queen) has now been locked in as a series regular for the next season. E! Online brings us this good news about Hartley’s regular reappearance on the show. According to sources, Hartley will be able to spend more time exploring the character’s origins then in his costumed state - which fits in nicely with the show’s decision to focus on Clark Kent before he became Superman....

On January 3, 2007, in honor of its unprecedented 70th anniversary, the CBS daytime drama Guiding Light will launch www.FindYourLight.net. The interactive, video-rich site will invite users to upload their own videos and view exclusive behind-the-scenes content featuring the cast of Guiding Light. The website, along with Guiding Light’s January 3 television episode, will introduce the show’s yearlong “Find Your Light” theme, which hearkens back to the show’s original themes of community and brotherhood....

The rock group Avenged Sevenfold has teamed up with Machinima for the six-episode web series Hail to the King, which is also the title of their forthcoming album debuting on August 27. The first trailer has debuted for this animated series, which tells the story of the band’s mascot, The Death Bat. The news of Bruce Willis’s retirement from acting has left many in the industry feeling like there has been a significant loss in Hollywood. Following the announcement that Willis would be stepping back from his movie roles due to being diagnosed with aphasia, his family shared various posts on social media. Now Haley Joel Osment, who starred with Willis in The Sixth Sense, M Night Shyamalan, who directed the movie, and other stars, including Kevin Smith and Sylvester Stallone, have all paid their tributes to the actor....
