Jeff Nathanson has been set to write and direct an adaptation of The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America’s First Superhero, William Kalush and Larry Sloman’s Harry Houdini biography for Summit Entertainment. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the book was published in 2006 by Atria Books, and made waves at the time for insinuating that Houdini was a spy for Britain and was asked to be an adviser to Czar Nicholas II’s court in pre-revolutionary Russia....

It looks like that’s going to be a wrap for Jeff Pickles, as Showtime has axed the Jim Carrey drama series Kidding after two seasons. The CW is delving further into their version of a Gotham City without Batman with Gotham Knights, a new live-action series based on the DC comic books. The drama is in development at the network from Batwoman alums Natalie Abrams, Chad Fiveash, and James Stoteraux with the three serving as writers on the new show. Last month, with more than seven months until The Strain premieres on FX, the network released a bizarre trailer, although it didn’t contain any actually footage from the show. Today, we have the first two photos from this adaptation of Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan’s novel series, featuring Corey Stoll as Dr. Ephraim Goodweather. Fans who are familiar with the actor from Law & Order: Los Angeles or House of Cards may not recognize him right away, since he isn’t sporting his traditional bald look, although he did have a full head of hair in 2011’s Midnight in Paris....
