Despite the fact that a writer’s strike is about to happen in Hollywood, studios aren’t panicking yet. According to Variety, most companies have been preparing for a strike this entire year and have a mountain of material that they are just sitting on. Sci Fi Wire caught up with Hugh Jackman about the upcoming X-Men sequel based upon his Logan/Wolverine character. He said that a second script draft has already been completed and that if X-Men: The Last Stand us successful, that 20th Century Fox will surely green light the film. In an interview, Jackman said : “It’s probably going to be a prequel to the movies that exist, and I’ve just seen – not just, but about three months ago I saw – the second draft that David Benioff [Troy] has done....

Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for Hustle, the basketball movie starring Adam Sandler. The latest in a long line of films that have resulted from a partnership between the veteran comedic actor and the streamer, Hustle imagines Sandler as a basketball coach in a story that’s more on the dramatic side. Hustle will be released on June 8, and before then, you can watch the new trailer below. Murphy Mason is back In the Dark for season 3 on The CW, premiering Wednesday, June 23. The series, which has been shooting its second seasons since November 2020, has already been renewed for season 4. The plot centers around Murphy Mason, a blind woman in her twenties. Played by Perry Mattfeld, this character is introverted and self-destructive, but she finds a new purpose in trying to find out who killed her friend....

Last month, Marvel unveiled a new Inhumans trailer at San Diego Comic-Con, which received mixed reviews from fans. Now executive producer Jeph Loeb is asking fans not to rush to judgment on this series for one simple reason: It’s not finished yet. Also the head of Marvel Television, Loeb was on hand at the TCA summer tour, where he revealed that the imagery is “simply extraordinary” and should be seen on IMAX screens, with the two-week limited IMAX theatrical window that begins September 1....

Yesterday, James Bond 23 confirmed the return of Daniel Craig as 007 and Sam Mendes as the director, with a release date set for November of 2012. It was also revealed that Simon Russell Beale would be joining the latest Bond adventure as the movie’s main heavy. While Simon’s character hasn’t been revealed, a spokesperson for the actor says that Beale will not be the villain, but actually a good guy....

According to Variety, J2 Entertainment partners Justin Berfield and Jason Felts have acquired rights to two books about Jerry Garcia and the Grateful Dead and intend to make a feature on the rock band’s lead singer and guitarist. The duo, who optioned the Sandy Troy bios “Captain Trips” and “One More Saturday Night,” do not fit the prototypical Deadhead profile. Berfield, best known for playing bullying brother Reese in “Malcolm in the Middle,” is 19; Felts is 26....

We know that Season 2 of the FX hit show American Horror Story will be set in the 1960s, at an East Coast institution for the criminally insane. We also know that Jessica Lange will play a completely different character, although we don’t have too many specifics about her role. Series writer Tim Minear has revealed that the Emmy-winning actress will play a nun this year, though. We reported back in March that The Voice judge Adam Levine will make his scripted TV debut in the show....
