Drew Powell has signed on for a recurring role on Gotham, which was given a straight-to-series order by Fox last year. The actor will play the villainous Butch Gilzean, the “deceptively clever and ambitious” second in command to mob boss Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith). The show centers on the relationship between Gotham police officer James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and a young Bruce Wayne, with Gordon and his partner Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) investigating the murder of Bruce’s parents....

Online multimedia site Guba has signed a deal with Sony Pictures Home Entertainment that makes it the first video-sharing community to distribute Sony Pictures movies online, says The Hollywood Reporter. Benjamin Feingold, SPHE president of worldwide home entertainment, digital distribution and acquisitions, said the company was attracted to the idea of offering its movies alongside user-created content in an environment that respected copyrights and ownership. “If you look at cable, you have services that are basic-tier products and premium-tier products next to each other,” he said....

Monty Python and The Holy Grail director Terry Jones is partnering with The Daily Show correspondent John Oliver for a new project entitled Absolutely Anything. Johnny Knoxville came up short in his plan to win WWE’s Royal Rumble match. Taking place once a year, the annual pro wrestling show features what’s called the Royal Rumble with 30 competitors tossing one another over the top rope until there’s just one person left standing.
