Rebooting old classic films is a Hollywood tradition, and it is clearly a fantastic marketing ploy because it does not need to build an audience by revealing the narrative or concept. Remakes of classics like Hamlet and The Nutcracker ballet show that there is another reason for this trend: they teach the new generation how to view these works in a more modern context. House Party is one such film that has always been a highly awaited reboot but still raises the question of whether it is feasible to successfully adapt a 90s classic....

Andor episode 5, “The Axe Forgets,” is primarily a big setup for one of the series’ big climaxes. Not to say that it wasn’t tense, exciting, and deeply revealing about some characters, but it looks like the Andor series will follow its original release paradigm by building a 3-act story arc over three episodes. In “The Axe Forgets,” tensions rise in Cassian’s small group of Rebel freedom fighters as they begin to question his motives before their heist on the Imperial dam....

It has been nearly four years since the final episode of Breaking Bad aired.That effectively ended the saga of Walter White, though, that world has been able to continue on via Better Call Saul, which follows Walter’s crooked lawyer Saul Goodman. Not to get everyone’s hopes up, but Bryan Cranston recently revealed that he would absolutely be up for playing Walter White on Better Call Saul, under the right circumstances....

When Netflix was developing series based on Marvel characters such as Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and more, the Marvel Cinematic Universe was just beginning to really hit its stride as it transitioned out of Phase Two and into Phase Three. The various characters that Netflix was working with were vaguely tied to the MCU, but in no meaningful or legitimate manner. The streamer was attempting to set up its own brand of Marvel characters, with each of them eventually crossing over in the Defenders series in 2017....

It seems that Platinum Dunes may have found its leading nightmare man for its upcoming remake. According to Bloody-Disgusting, Jackie Earle Haley is entering final negotiations to portray Freddy Krueger in Platinum Dunes’ new remake, A Nightmare on Elm Street. It was reported by Latino Review in February that Haley was indeed locked to play Krueger, and while that wasn’t exactly the case back then, it seems to be moving towards reality now....

In a Tweet sent on Thursday, August 11th, 2022, actor Jameela Jamil shared her excitement for a newly released promotional poster advertising the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law with a message that called to mind her appearance on the beloved sitcom The Good Place: “HOLY FORKING SHIRTBALLS IT’S REAL! (explosion emoji),” Tweeted Jamil alongside the character poster for her role, the antagonistic Titania. In a Tweet from Marvel Entertainment’s official Twitter account that included Titania’s character poster, Jamil’s character was described as also being known as an influencer… and a courtroom wall breaker, a designation that likely refers to the clip from the trailer in which Titania literally breaks through the wall of a courtroom (Kool-Aid Man-style)....

James Bond villains have come up with some really ingenious schemes over the years. Some steal nuclear bombs and hold the world for ransom; others want to destroy a large amount of one resource to increase the value of their own stockpile, and one even wanted to stage a coup in China, all so he could get broadcasting rights in that country. IFC announced today that Jon Hamm (Mad Men) will guest star in the second season of IFC’s original comedy series, The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret, which will premiere in January 2012. Jon Hamm is featured along side stars David Cross and Will Arnett in five of the series’ six brand new half-hour episodes. Additionally, musician Johnny Marr returns to score and perform the series’ original music to compliment the existing original pieces he created for season one....

A second season of Shoresy is confirmed to be in the works. A spinoff of Letterkenny, the first season of Shoresy debuted on Hulu in May 2022. It’s now been announced that the series has been renewed by Hulu for a 6-episode second season. Production is slated to start in Sudbury this spring from New Metric Media in association with Play Fun Games. Director Steven Spielberg announced he will start production on his next movie Lincoln this fall in Virginia. The filmmaker will shoot in the historic towns of Petersburg and Richmond, which was the capitol of the Confederacy during the Civil War. Here’s what the director had to say about these locations in a statement. The Scorsese-verse is expanding. After the legendary filmmaker’s first ventures into the world of streaming, directing the pilot episode of HBO’s Vinyl (2016) and the Netflix original film, The Irishman (2019), Martin Scorsese is returning to the small screen for a new adaptation of his epic historical film, Gangs of New York (2002). This effort revives a similar attempt back in 2013, which failed to materialize. Nevertheless, the Taxi Driver director is giving it another go twenty years after the release of Gangs with a new round of episodes scripted by television writer and playwright Brett Leonard....
