There’s no doubt, Ralph Fiennes portrayed Voldemort like an absolute boss in the Harry Potter movie franchise. For some, he is the awful, murderous wizard responsible for forever changing the wizarding world with his cult-like followers and absolute practices. For others, he is the evil genius who attempted world domination by whatever means necessary and went where almost no other wizard would (or could, morally). Regardless of how we feel about him, he is no doubt an absolute powerhouse in the Harry Potter franchise and the wizarding world (and could easily have his own spin-off)....

Hasbro, Inc. has announced plans to unleash the legendary dinosaurs from Universal Pictures’ Jurassic Park. This fall, under a licensing agreement with Universal Partnerships & Licensing, Hasbro plans to launch a new action figure line based on the film’s prehistoric predators exclusively at Toys"R"Us stores across the country. “Jurassic Park is one of the most successful film franchises of all time and has a passionate fan base,” said Derryl DePriest, Vice President of Marketing at Hasbro....

When HBO launched in the 1970s, it primarily broadcasted theatrical films and sporting events, solely between the hours of 7 pm and 12 am. At this point in its lifetime, it was also only available in certain areas of the United States in and around New York City, where it was based. In 1975, the network began broadcasting in every state, which significantly increased its visibility. It wasn’t until Warner Media acquired ownership of HBO that its ambitious original programming began....

When watching movies in the MCU, they always highlight the heroes and what they are doing to help fight against whoever the villain is for that movie. Of course, that’s what any movie would do — focus on the main characters and their plot, only skimming over anything else that isn’t as relevant. NBC Universal flexes its collective muscles as part of an ambitious company-wide initiative to showcase NBC’s hit series Heroes with the “Heroes World Tour,” which will kick off the Heroes: Season One DVD and HD DVD release in domestic and international markets and feature the cast on a personal tour as production resumes on the drama’s second season. The news follows last week’s announcement that unveiled a multi-faceted, 360-degree marketing campaign shared by Nissan and NBC on behalf of Heroes....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, horror fans checked into Lionsgate’s Hostel in surprisingly large numbers this weekend, as the R-rated horror film from writer-director Eli Roth rang up an estimated $20.1 million from 2,195 theaters to capture first place at the boxoffice. Heading into the frame, the prerelease tracking on Hostel, co-produced with Screen Gems, was lukewarm at best, and it looked likely that Buena Vista Pictures’ “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe” and Universal Pictures’ King Kong would rule in the top spots again....

Spoiler Warning: RRR One of the surprise hits of the year is Rise Roar Revolt (better known as RRR), a revolutionary-era blockbuster from India. The film is the latest from big-name director S. S. Rajamouli, whose previous movies Baahubali: The Beginning (2015) and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (2017) are both among the top 5 highest-grossing films in Indian history. It’s not a surprise, then, that RRR was highly anticipated — but what did come as a surprise was the massive global impact the movie had....

Hugh Jackman and Seed Productions partner John Palermo are already in development with Fox on a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine, which rocked the domestic box office over the weekend. According to Variety, the Seed partners have begun planning the sequel, which they are squarely focusing on the samurai storyline originated in the comic series, and whose Japanese locale was teased after the film’s final credits. A writer has yet to be hired....

Could The Juggernaut be getting his own film? Currently, signs seem to be pointing that direction. IGN informs us that director Joe Carnahan (Smokin’ Aces) posted an image of Juggernaut from the comics to his website along with the phrase “I’ll let you guys go nuts on this one…” Obviously, fans have done just that, and speculation is high that Carnahan may be making a film based on the unstoppable mutant powerhouse, although neither Carnahan nor Vinnie Jones (who played the character in X-Men: The Last Stand) has made any official comment....

The graphic novels are set in the 26th century, where society has collapsed after a world war. In this post apocalyptic world, cyborgs are a part of life and humans have augmented their bodies with the robotic technology. The story centers Alita, a fourteen year old female cyborg that has lost her memory....

The casting of Black actors in a role previously depicted as being a white character in the source material is a surefire way of upsetting some people on social media. The latest such occurrence has come following the arrival of the first look at the High Evolutionary in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, played by Chukwudi Iwuji. With some fans directly questioning the casting on the director’s Twitter account, James Gunn has responded with an equally direct response to all of those claiming the character has been “unnecessarily race-swapped....

If Mean Girls and Heathers endured senior year of high school with a featherless Black Swan, it would somehow resemble the film Jane. Directed by Sabrina Jaglom (Home Again, Unforgettable) from a script she co-wrote with Rishi Rajani, the female-driven thriller manages to hit some great marks. It’s steady, it’s brooding, and it invites the audience to ponder what’s really occurring. Toss in some a gaggle of grief, some cyberbullying, and a believable performance from the film’s lead, Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch, and that’s plenty of incentive to invest nearly 90 minutes of your time in....

BBC America and Jennifer Saunders are teaming up to co-produce two new comedies. According to Variety, one will include a British version of The Golden Girls. Saunders will write and star in both series, one of which reunites her with Absolutely Fabulous co-star, Joanna Lumley - Clatterford, which is centered on the misadventures of a women’s club in a small English town. It follows widow Sal Vine (Sue Johnston), who joins the club after the death of her husband....

While many John Wick fans were excited at the prospect of Chapters 4 and 5 filming back to back, that plan didn’t happen. It was assumed by many that one of the reasons was down to Covid delays and the studio just wanting to get something out without having to delay longer than necessary.
