John Carpenter is on board to direct Darkchylde, based on the comic by Randy Queen about a good hearted southern teen cursed to become the creatures from her many recurring nightmares. Every time Ariel Chylde transforms, she sheds her skin and a new nightmare emerges from her Id to act out her deepest, darkest impulses. John Carpenter and Sandy King’s Storm King Productions have allied with Randy and Sarah Queen’s Darkchylde Ent....

John Corbett will reprise his Sex and the City role on HBO Max’s And Just Like That… Deadline reports that the actor, who played Aidan Shaw in the original series and the second movie, will appear for a multi-episode arc during the series’ upcoming second season. HBO has not released an official statement regarding the news. In April 2021, the actor excited Sex and the City fans when he (falsely) told Page Six that he thought he “might be in quite a few [episodes]” of the show’s first season....

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has just signed onto the David Siegel/Scott McGehee drama Uncertainty. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he has also joined Darren Star’s coming of age dramedy The Frog King. Uncertainty will revolve around a young couple that is forced to make an important decision. The story will be split into two versions of the same 4th of July weekend. Siegel and McGehee wrote the script, and a lot of the dialogue will be developed in collaboration with the actors....

Jurassic World: Dominion may have had some of the franchise’s most mixed reviews, but the dinosaur-filled sequel has roared up $900 million worldwide, making it the third highest-grossing movie of 2022 so far. As the film heads toward the end of its theatrical run, there could still be enough in the tank to see it pass Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to end in second place behind the currently unbeatable Top Gun: Maverick....

Empire star Jussie Smollett has been indicted by a Chicago grand jury of 16 felony counts for lying to police about an alleged staged hate crime. At the end of January, Smollett went to police and claimed that he had been attacked by two men who were yelling racial and anti-gay slurs at him. The actor then claimed that one of them put a noose around his neck while the other man threw bleach on his skin....

Further details are slowly beginning to drip through regarding why director Justin Lin so suddenly departed the upcoming action movie, Fast X. And each of them is even grubbier than the last. The latest report from The Hollywood Reporter has claimed that Lin walked away from the high-profile project after having a “major disagreement” with star Vin Diesel on April 23. Attending a four-person meeting, Diesel reportedly arrived with new notes —something Justin Lin was understandably unhappy with, considering he believed the script to be finished....

Guillermo del Toro unveiled the first episode for Tales of Arcadia: 3Below at NYCC earlier today. Additionally, a teaser trailer for the show was released online and you can watch it below. Del Toro serves as the creator and executive producer and he was joined by voice talent Diego Luna, and fellow executive producers Rodrigo Blaas, Marc Guggenheim and Chad Hammes for the special event. Guy Pearce is in final negotiations to join the cast of Iron Man 3 for Marvel Studios and director Shane Black. The actor will portray geneticist Aldrich Killian, who created the Extremis technology which will play an important part in the sequel. Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) adopts the technology after Killian sells it to terrorists. The story will follow the spread of a virus through nanotechnology, which Tony Stark tries to stop....
