Oscar-winning filmmaker Paul Haggis is hoping to prove his innocence in an ongoing civil trial, and on Monday, King of Queens star Leah Remini served as a character witness on his behalf. Taking to bat for Haggis by appearing through a video chat, Remini testified with confidence that the Crash director is innocent of the sexual assault allegations that have been leveled against him. “Men and women who have been raped absolutely deserve justice, but in this case, it’s absolutely Paul who is the victim here,” Remini testified, per Variety....

Warner Bros. is moving forward on Lego: The Movie, a live-action/animation hybrid that has been in the works since 2008. The movie will be a family comedy based on the popular building blocks, and it will takes place in the magical land of Lego. No further plot details have been released at this time, with casting set to begin in January. Warner Bros. is eyeing a 2014 release date for Lego: The Movie....

Hulu has released the trailer for Letterkenny season 9. From the looks of things, the gang did not take their own advice by taking “about 20 percent off” for the new season. The footage teases big fights, how vulgar the word “taste” can be at times, and some new adventures for the rest of the characters on the cult classic comedy series. If anything, the cast and crew heaped on an extra 20 percent to keep fans even more entertained than the previous seasons....

The post-apocalyptic thriller I Am Legend is getting a follow-up film. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. is moving forward with an I Am Legend sequel with original star Will Smith returning with Michael B. Jordan coming on board to star and produce alongside Smith. The film will be the duo’s first big movie together as stars and producers. Oscar winner Akiva Goldsman, who wrote the previous film adaptation, will also return to pen this untitled sequel and produce with Smith and Jordan....

You can bring home a trio of Jason Voorhes slasherific films in a new three-disc set before the new incarnation hits theaters. Jason Slasher Collection will be released on DVD on February 3, 10 days before the new remake of Friday the 13th hits theaters. This three-disc set will include the films, Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X and Freddy vs. Jason. The set will be priced at $23.97 SRP and will also include a $5 movie pass good towards the new Friday the 13th film....

We’re saying goodbye to another legend of the small screen, as veteran TV actor John Clarke has passed away at the age of 88. Though Clarke has played a variety of characters in many different TV shows across the span of several decades, he is perhaps best known for starring on the long-running soap opera Days of Our Lives for an astonishing 39 years. Reportedly, the actor died on Oct. 16 in Laguna Beach, California, due to complications of pneumonia....

Part of Michael Bay’s deal with Paramount to helm Transformers 4 finds the director getting behind the lens of the much smaller crime comedy Pain and Gain. And while franchise cast member John Turturro won’t be back for another go opposite Optimus and Bumble Bee, he might be reteaming with Bay for this true-life tale about gym rats embroiled in a kidnapping. Pain and Gain, which is based on a series of articles from the Miami New Times, finds Dwayne Johnson and Mark Wahlberg as two Sun Gym employees who kidnap a business man, torture him, and leave him for dead, only to fail and have the man come back seeking revenge....

Actors Karl Urban and Ben Barnes have signed on to star in Overdrive for director Antonio Negret (Seconds Apart) and producer Pierre Morel (Taken). We first reported on this project back in May, when Alex Pettyfer and Matthew Goode were in early talks to star. Now Karl Urban and Ben Barnes will star as a pair of car-thief brothers, who venture to the south of France to find more work, and end up getting in over their heads....

Actor Justin Long has revealed that director Kevin Smith is gathering the troops for the sequel to his bizarre 2014 body-horror flick, Tusk.
