USA Network and Universal Pictures have partnered to develop, produce and package three customized vignettes using footage from Universal Pictures’ upcoming comedy adventure Land of the Lost, starring Will Ferrell, it was announced today. The spots will debut as part of “Character Uncovered,” a USA branding initiative that explores some of the most famous characters in pop culture, it was announced today by Chris McCumber, executive vice president, marketing, digital and brand strategy....

The news broke sometime last week that George Romero was hard at work on yet another zombie flick, though it had nothing to do with his previous entries in the Night Of The Living Dead saga. Now comes word from Variety that Romero is in fact shooting his latest zombie hell ride in Ontario, and at this moment the film is untitled. The plot of this latest in a long line of Dead films centers around a small isolated island off the coast of North America where the dead are rising to eat their own relatives....

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery is set to premiere in a few days at the Toronto International Film Festival, and Netflix has been ramping up promotions lately for the hotly-anticipated thriller. Like its 2019 predecessor, Knives Out, Glass Onion also boasts an ensemble cast comprising Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Jessica Henwick, Kate Hudson, Dave Bautista, Ethan Hawke, and Madelyn Cline. In the past few weeks, amidst calls against racial injustices in America, celebrities have been busy pledging their support for the Black Lives Matter movement. Glee alum Lea Michele’s Twitter post supporting BLM came under fire when ex-co-star from Glee, Samantha Ware accused her of racist behavior on the sets of the show. Now, in a new interview, Ware has revealed Michele’s problematic behavior had been in effect from day one....

Season two of Netflix’s Emily in Paris recently dropped, and there’s a lot of online chatter– for better or worse – about the comedy. It’s astonishing how much money goes into Hollywood franchise movies. Between the actors’ multi-million-dollar salaries and the salaries of thousands of crew members to post-production and marketing, the budgets for some films certainly make you realize just how little we, as an audience, are in comparison to the giants of the film industry. Since the MCU’s inception, one of the most prominent characters and vital heroes to the story of the Infinity Saga has been Bruce Banner aka The Hulk. Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in 1962, The Hulk is one of the most iconic heroes in all of Marvel Comics. While Marvel Studios didn’t have access to characters like Spider-Man, the X-Men, and The Fantastic Four when they first began building their interconnected universe, The Hulk was the biggest hero they had access to, so he was one of the first characters to get a movie in the form of 2008’s The Incredible Hulk which opened in theaters a month after Iron Man....

The Producers Guild of America (PGA), a national non-profit trade group committed to protecting the rights and credits of producers in film, television and new media, announced today that the legendary Oscar award-winning producer, director, writer James Cameron will be honored with the 2011 Milestone Award. The award will be presented to Cameron at the 22nd Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 22nd at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles....

According to Variety, Jay Roach is attaching to direct and Peter Landesman has been set to write an untitled film about W. Mark Felt for Universal Pictures and Playtone. The career FBI man revealed himself last year to be Deep Throat, the secret source who helped Washington Post reporters Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein crack the Watergate cover-up conspiracy. Playtone partners Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are producing. Felt teamed last summer with San Francisco attorney John O’Connor to reveal his secret in Vanity Fair....

Matt Austin-Sadowski’s documentary Don’t You Forget About Me has become the benefactor of unfortunate timing. According to Variety, this look at the life and films of John Hughes has been picked up for distribution by Alliance Films of Montreal in the days following the director’s untimely death. Following Hughes passing, director Austin-Sadowski was asked to be interviewed by CNN. This lead to the film being snapped up by Alliance Films. The documentary follows Hughes’ legacy through his work on such seminal teen hits as Sixteen Candles and Weird Science....

John Michael Higgins has been tapped to lead the cast of ABC’s comedy, The Thick of It. The show focuses on the nonpartisan high jinks that ensue in the office of a newly elected congressman (Higgins). Bill Smitrovich and Jason Antoon have joined Fox’s comedy pilot Me & Lee, which centers on Joel (Jamie Kennedy), a chronic back pain victim who gets more than he bargained for when he undergoes “bionic” surgery in a secret lab run by actor Lee Majors (playing himself) in the basement of his Beverly Hills mansion....
