The director stated, “It was an opportunity to take what I think has been a maligned world - to sound crass, a franchise - and treat it in a way that made it something that I wanted to see. To take the characters, the thoughtfulness, the personalities, the sense of adventure, the idea of humanity working together, the sense of social commentary and innovation, all that stuff....

A trio of new images from John Wick: Chapter 4 reveal Keanu Reeves back in action as the titular assassin. Following its first stop-motion film, Monkeypaw Productions will continue to divest its storytelling experience with Quiet Part Loud, its first fiction audio series. The new project will consist of 12 short-form episodes that will be available to binge all at once. Monkeypaw will team up with Spotify’s Gimlet Media to produce, while Tracy Letts, Arian Moayed, Christina Hendricks, and Taran Killam will lend their voices to the new series. Accordion to the producers of the show, Quiet Part Loud will use immersive audio and sound design to present “a haunting parable and an unflinching examination of the current state of fear and divisiveness in America” that also “explores the roots of our conspiracy-obsessed culture where disinformation now runs rampant....

French filmmakers Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo have been confirmed to write and direct a remake of Clive Barker’s 1987 horror film Hellraiser for Dimension Films, according to Variety. Barker will produce. Dimension is hoping to score another hit, similar to the recent remake of Halloween, The original film revolved around a man who finds that he is given more than he bargains for when he solves the puzzle of the Lamont Configuration - a doorway to hell....

Oh, those clever celebrities with their Twitter accounts, revealing secrets they shouldn’t be revealing! It seems that LeVar Burton, of Star Trek: The Next Generation fame is going to be doing recordings for Marvel’s new kids-oriented animated series [bold|Super Hero Squad]. Here’s what Burton said on the subject: Now, it’s unclear whether or not the [bold|Super Hero Squad] version of the character will eventually don the armored suit of War Machine, as very little about the series is known at this time....

Syfy has handed out a pilot order for a new sci-fi series entitled Nightflyers, based on the beloved George R.R. Martin novel. The network announced just last month that it was developing the project during its upfront presentation, and now it is already moving on to the pilot stage. No details were given regarding a production schedule or casting at this time. Here’s what Bill McGoldrick, exec vp scripted development at NBCUniversal Cable Entertainment, had to say in a statement in regards to Nightflyers....

George R.R. Martin has provided news that’s bound to reassure fans who’ve been worrying about the extent of his involvement in the several Game of Thrones prequels and spinoffs currently in development. Martin, who’s best known for writing A Song of Ice and Fire novel series, was creatively involved in its television adaptation, Game of Thrones, for the first four seasons. Since her first appearance as Dana Scully in The X-Files, Gillian Anderson has been a household name, and despite having a wide-ranging successful career outside the iconic sci-fi series, that it is still the role that almost everyone remembers her for. Of that means that avid fans are also holding out hope that there could be another return of the unexplained events investigator returning with on-screen partner David Duchovny as Fox Mulder for more alien thrills....

/Film is reporting that in DC Comics’ and Warner Bros. production of the Green Lantern (starring Ryan Reynolds) the suit the character wears is going to be almost entirely CG. Jason Isaacs will star in the upcoming Cary Grant biopic Archie as the charming leading man. News of the ITV miniseries, and the Harry Potter star’s casting as Grant, made news in August, but additional cast members were unknown until today. Archie, written by Jeff Pope, will also star Laura Aikman (Bluestone 42) as Dyan Cannon, Grant’s ex-wife and Harriet Walter (Succession) as Elise Leach, Grant’s mother. The four-part series, will also include Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Ragdoll), Ian Pulston-Davies (Coronation Street), Ian McNeice (Doc Martin), Jason Watkins (Des), Lisa Faulkner (EastEnders) and Niamh Cusack (The Virtues)....

Frequent collaborator Helena Bonham Carter is firmly in the corner of Johnny Depp months after his defamation trial, feeling that the embattled actor has successfully cleared his name. For years, Depp had been leveled with accusations of domestic abuse which culminated with Heard describing herself as an abuse survivor in a 2018 op-ed written for The Washington Post. The two sued one another for defamation, but the jury heavily sided with Depp, agreeing that Heard’s allegations were maliciously fabricated to derail his career....

The novelization of Hellboy II: The Golden Army has been written by Robert Greenberger, and is scheduled for a May 25, 2008 release, according to Comics Continuum. Hulu is leaning into the recent surge in science fiction content. The streaming service is developing a TV series adaptation of Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. The series will be helmed by showrunner Carlton Cuse as writer and executive producer along with Jason Fuchs (Wonder Woman). John Corbett and former co-star Hilary Duff are reuniting for the upcoming second season of How I Met Your Father. The two previously collaborated on the 2004 film Raise Your Voice, where Corbett portrayed Mr. Tovald, Duff’s character’s music teacher.
