Showtime and Fox 21 announced today that the Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning drama series Homeland will begin production in Cape Town, South Africa. Season 4 will find Carrie Mathison (Emmy, SAG and Golden Globe Award winner Claire Danes) assigned to one of the most volatile and dangerous CIA stations in the Middle East where she is back on the front lines in the war on terror. The series will begin production in mid-June and shoot through November of this year....

Most people will remember Tim Burton for such wild creations as Edward Scissorhands or A Nightmare Before Christmas. Comparing his earlier works to newer titles seems a bit unfair as Burton has largely left what made him famous as of late, wanting to explore new ideas in his partnership with Disney. Who wants some more Paul Haggis on DVD? In the Valley of Elah is coming to DVD on February 19. The disc will be released in both the standard and HD DVD formats. The film stars Tommy Lee Jones, Susan Sarandon, Charlize Theron and is directed by Paul Haggis. On his first weekend back after serving in Iraq, Mike Deerfield (Jonathan Tucker) goes missing and is reported AWOL. When Hank Deerfield (Tommy Lee Jones), a former military MP and his wife Joan (Susan Sarandon) get the phone call with the disturbing news, Hank sets out to search for their son....

Back in 2019, we saw the super successful action-comedy Pokémon Detective Pikachu hit screens. The movie was sort of an adaptation of the popular Nintendo 3DS game of the same name. While we all are used to seeing many animated TV shows, movies, and games from the past becoming live-action media in the present day, doing the same to the Pokémon franchise was definitely a risky move. Thankfully, the risk paid off thanks to the phenomenal CGI work, Rob Letterman’s brilliant direction, and the oh-so-funny Ryan Reynolds, who did a fantastic job voicing Pikachu....

James Cameron has suggested that despite new Avatar movies being scheduled to release every two years, that may not actually be the case. During a recent interview with The Wrap, the director noted how Avatar 3 was helped along thanks to its advanced shooting schedule, but Avatar 4 could actually take longer to make and be released. During a recent writers’ roundtable hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, Everything Everywhere All at Once director Daniel Kwan shared a story about a peculiar movie idea. Kwan shared with the group (that included Jordan Peele, Rian Johnson, Tony Kushner, Chinonye Chukwu, and Martin McDonagh) that Jim Carrey had once reached out to him and creative partner Daniel Scheinert with an idea for a found-footage horror movie that revolved around the filming of Dumb and Dumber To....

Warner Bros. are continuing to develop their list of projects based on the works of Dr. Seuss with Oh, The Places You’ll Go! being added to their animation movie radar and has linked Jon M. Chu to direct. However those already excited by the prospect may have to prepare to settle down for a long wait as the movie isn’t set to premiere until 2027 - and you thought Marvel liked to plan ahead....

Per a report from Deadline, two big stars have officially joined the cast of the film rendition of the iconic Five Nights at Freddy’s video game. Josh Hutcherson (Hunger Games) and Matthew Lillard (Scream) are both on board to play presumably notable characters from the game, however, the names of said characters have not been disclosed. They are the first two actors to join the movie’s cast, which is not set to begin production until February 2023....

The Goonies remains one of the most loved movies of the 80s, and is a real Easter egg-filled treasure trove for Steven Spielberg fans. Ke Huy Quan played Richard “Data” Wang in the movie, a kid with a love for making gadgets that sometimes don’t work out exactly as they are expected to – think of a child version of Billy Peltzer’s father in Gremlins, just as a taste of one of the many references to other Spielberg movies....

Director Gavin O’Connor’s (Pride and Glory) has set up his next project titled Warrior, at Lionsgate, according to Variety. Originally set at New Line, Lionsgate has now acquired Warrior, which is a mixed-martial-arts saga about two estranged brothers on a collision course to fight in a tournament for the heavyweight championship. O’Connor wrote the script with A.M. Tambakis and Cliff Dorfman, and he will produce with his brother, Greg O’Connor....

Actors Gérard Depardieu and Isabelle Adjani are circling roles in an untitled drama based on the Dominique Strauss-Kahn sex scandal. Director Abel Ferrara and screenwriter Christ Zois are currently developing the project, and have met with Dominique Strauss-Kahn and his wife, Anne Sinclair. Back in May, Nafissatou Diallo, a 32-year-old hotel maid accused Dominique Strauss-Kahn of sexually assaulting her in a New York City hotel room....
