Hans Zimmer has created Oscar-winning compositions for numerous films, including The Lion King and Gladiator, but found one of his greatest challenges in finding music to represent Heath Ledger’s Joker in The Dark Knight. Hulu has unveiled some first look images for History of the World, Part II, the official follow-up to the classic Mel Brooks movie History of the World, Part I. Paramount Pictures has stepped in to acquire acclaimed director Martin Scorsese’s 3D adaptation of the Brian Selznick children’s novel Hugo Cabret. Hugo Cabret, which was originally set to be released in December, will arrive just in time for Thanksgiving. The rollicking adventure will now open on November 23rd, one day before the holiday. This will give Hugo Cabret a solid five-day weekend to find its audience. It will also have to contend with Walt Disney Pictures’ The Muppets....

The Good One of the greatest detective shows ever has finally made it’s way to DVD. The Bad Not enough extras. Some of the episodes looked a tad too grainy in parts. Ironside: The Complete 1st Season features 8 discs worth of crack detective work from Robert T. Ironside . Burr had made his name known long before this as one of TVs greatest legal minds, Perry Mason. In this show, his character was put in a wheelchair via a sniper’s bullet and this does nothing to make him any more warm and fuzzy....

The Sundance Film Festival is coming to iTunes. According to Home Media Retailing, beginning on January 22, “the Sundance Institute and Sundance Channel will offer shorts from the narrative, documentary and animation genres from the 2007 Sundance Film Festival for download via Apple’s iTunes download store.” The short films will each be available for $1.99. “I have felt, from the earliest days, that if people really care about independent film, they should pay particular attention to short filmmakers, who are the best indicators of what is coming down the creative pike,” stated Robert Redford, the man behind the Sundance Institute and founder of Sundance Channel....
It seems that the director of two successful 80s films will be involved with a third film, but perhaps not at the helm. Bloody-Disgusting is reporting that they have “straight up confirmed, 100%, without a shadow of a doubt that Ivan Reitman, director of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters 2, is in fact attached to get behind the camera for Ghostbusters 3.” However, the site is reporting that Reitman is still unsure whether or not he will return to direct the film himself, or if he’ll only be involved in a producer capacity....
