Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp will play Louis XV in the actor’s first major acting gig since the conclusion of his $50 million defamation suit against ex-wife Amber Heard. The actor is currently on location in France to shoot the film. A first look image, which has been released courtesy of Deadline, finds Depp sporting full royal regalia while wearing a blindfold with the actor set to star alongside Maïwenn as Jeanne du Barry....

Joseph Morgan will join the main cast of Titans during its fourth season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. He will play Sebastian Blood, which comic book fans may know better as Brother Blood. The character has been described as “an introvert with strong intelligence and with a hidden, darker nature.” Previously the character’s organization, the Church of Blood, appeared on a sign during the season 3 premiere. In the comics, Brother Blood was a cult leader who possessed vampire-like powers, with the ability to drain the powers belonging to the person whose blood he drank....

Chalk up another Emmy win for Julia Garner. At the Primetime Emmy Awards, Garner was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her acclaimed role as Ruth Langmore in the final season of the Netflix series Ozark. She managed to pick up the win, marking her third time winning an Emmy for the series, but as Garner explained afterward, she was pleasantly surprised by this year’s win....

The Good A solidly crafted, superbly acted show. The Bad No Special Features at all. This is simply a great show. Doug Heffernan (Kevin James), Carrie Heffernan (Leah Remini) and Arthur Spooner (Jerry Stiller) are a terrific comic team. In this, the King of Queens: The Complete Fifth Season we are treated to Doug curing his insomnia by sleeping with Arthur, Carrie dealing with shopping too much and Arthur learning to live with a dog....

Fiore Films, an independent production company, today announced that Academy Award-nominated screenwriter James Toback has been signed to work on the Gotti: Three Generations original screenplay. The film will be directed and rewritten by Academy Award-winner Barry Levinson with additional writing by Toback. This is the same team that made Bugsy, which earned ten Academy Award nominations. “Everyone involved with the film is very excited to have James Toback on-board,” said Marc Fiore, executive producer and producer of Gotti: Three Generations and CEO of Fiore Films, LLC....

In a story from Variety, the DreamWorks Animation CEO was recently at a Bank of America conference in New York where he responded to a question about whether HD-DVD or Blu-ray would win the format war. “Blu-Ray and HD DVD are a niche business. They’re not going to become the next platform,” Katzenberg stated. “I think for the general consumer, there is not a big enough delta between the standard DVD in terms of where it is today and the next generation....
