Jeremy Renner has been playing expert archer Hawkeye/Clint Barton in the MCU for a decade now. It seems Martin Scorcese’s next musical-themed project will have to go on without Scorcese himself. According to Variety, director Martin Scorcese has dropped out of his Untitled Bob Marley Documentary, and Jonathan Demme will take over the project. Scorcese announced early this year that this film would be his follow-up to his Rolling Stones musical documentary Shine a Light, but the director has dropped out of the Marley film because of scheduling conflicts....

In a story from The Hollywood director Joseph Kosinski (Tron: Legacy) is developing Oblivion as a feature for Radical Pictures. David Fincher is onboard this project as a producer. Oblivion will also be a graphic novel that features 40 fully painted landscape images accompanied by prose. The story follows a battle-damaged soldier who, when sent to a desolate planet, goes around the barren landscape in the hopes of destroying the final vestiges of an alien race....

Like most indies, it deals with a family. In this case, George (Alessandro Nivola) and his wife Madeleine (Embeth Davidtz) travel to Georgia on business. On this trip, George takes Madeleine on a detour through his family. It is here that the marrow in this film’s bones reside....

Who doesn’t like surprises? George Lucas made a surprise visit to ShoWest in Las Vegas on Thursday, according to Variety, to sell theater owners on his upcoming animated feature Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which Warner Bros. releases Aug. 15. “I think it can live up to the live-action movies,” Lucas said before rolling a clip of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, based on an animated series Lucas is producing for Warner’s sister cable net Cartoon Network....

Based on the British series of the same name, the American version of Ghosts was adapted by Joe Port and Joe Wiseman in 2021. The show follows married couple Sam (Rose McIver) and Jay (Utkarsh Ambudkar), who inherit the Woodstone mansion from Sam’s relative, and decide to make it a bed and breakfast inn. Unknown to them, the house is filled with various ghosts who have died on the property. After Sam has a near-death experience, she gains the ability to see the ghosts; she is then drawn into their existence and conflicts, while still having to manage her own....

The Halo universe expands into anime this spring via Halo Legends, a DVD anthology of episodic films based within the popular game’s mythology produced by 343 Industries, a unit within Microsoft Game Studios. One of the key orchestrators of Halo’s morphing from interactive entertainment to on-screen magic is Frank O’Connor, the Halo franchise development director.
