Syfy’s fan-favorite series Haven will get a new resident when Laura Mennell (Alphas, Watchmen) joins the cast in a recurring role playing Dr. Erin Reid, a brilliant and beautiful epidemiologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) who fears the town of Haven is on the verge of a deadly viral outbreak. Filming for the series’ 26-episode fifth season is currently underway on location in Halifax, Nova Scotia....

During the recent “Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) trade show in Denver, a company promoting” this “new high-definition optical disc format demonstrated set-top players and high-definition movies that cost far less than ones that use the competing Blu-ray Disc or HD DVD formats.”...

For 20 seasons, FOX’s America’s Most Wanted: America Fights Back has presented law enforcement’s toughest cases and asked viewers to submit their tips. The success rate has been phenomenal: to date, 911 fugitives have been taken down as a result of AMW viewer tips, and 51 missing children safely returned home. On Saturday, Nov. 18 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX, AMW will ask its viewers to go beyond anything they’ve done before....

Hugh Jackman is returning to the big screen later this year with his role in The Son. The story will follow Jackman’s character, Peter, as his hectic life with his new partner (Vanessa Kirby) and their baby is thrown into disarray by the arrival of his ex-wife (Laura Dern) and their teenage son, Nicholas (Zen McGrath). Clearly, the 53-year-old actor will be in the father figure role for more than one person in The Son with a newborn and a teenage son....

Season 3 of Succession has officially ended. The hit series, for those not familiar, follows the Roy family, owners of media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. The family patriarch, Logan Roy (Brian Cox), has experienced a decline in health. His four children—removed oldest son Connor (Alan Ruck), power-hungry Kendall (Jeremy Strong, who deservedly won an Emmy for his season 2 performance), irreverent Roman (Kieran Culkin)) and politically savvy Shiv (Sarah Snook, who also played a lawyer in the Oscar-nominated Pieces of a Woman)—all with varying degrees of connection to the company, begin to prepare for a future without their father, and each begins vying for prominence within the company....

Back in November of 2009, we reported that director Roland Emmerich is planning back-to-back sequels for the 1996 blockbuster Independence Day. It seems that plan is still intact, with screenwriter Dean Devlin said to be delivering both screenplays for Independence Day 2 and Independence Day 3 by mid-December. However, Will Smith may not return to star in these sequels. Will Smith has reportedly asked for $50 million to shoot both sequels back-to-back, which Fox declined....

Freeze Dried Movies has learned that in Jon Favreau’s Iron Man, there will be at least three different suits of armor in the film. We ran a story earlier this week, which you can CLICK HERE to read, that shows one of the armor costumes in the film, but apperantly there are at least two more! We’ll make sure to notify everyone if images of the other body armor appears on the internet....

The popular sitcom It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia could still just be getting started, as series creator Rob McElhenney says he and the cast intend to keep it going for as long as the fans are watching. While promoting his newest project Mythic Quest: Raven’s Banquet at the Winter Television Critics Association press tour, McElhenney made it clear that his work on the Apple TV+ series would not interfere with his work on It’s Always Sunny....

While early production has begun on another Superman reboot from James Gunn, the filmmaker hasn’t gotten to the casting process just yet. Just recently, Gunn and fellow DC Studios head Peter Safran unveiled a slew of titles that they have in production for their plans with the DCU. One of the most notable projects is Superman: Legacy, which will introduce a younger actor to take on the role. It was also announced that the movie will be released in 2025....

Watchmen star Jeffrey Dean Morgan has signed on for the lead role in the upcoming action film The Courier, according to Deadline New York. Morgan will play the title character, a renegade courier who takes on near-impossible missions and yet has never failed. When he’s given a job to deliver a briefcase to a shady crime lord that can’t be found, he finds himself being pursued by everyone from crooked cops, shady federal agents and underworld rivals to the mysterious crime boss....
