With production underway in Prague on the upcoming 10-part anthology series Genius, National Geographic Channel today releases first-look photos of Geoffrey Rush (The Kings Speech, Pirates of the Caribbean, Shine) and Johnny Flynn (Clouds of Sils Maria, Song One, Lovesick) in character as Albert Einstein. Flynn portrays the legendary scientist in his early years, with Rush taking over as Einstein reaches the prime of his career. Through 10 episodes, Genius will chart how an imaginative, rebellious patent clerk, who couldn’t get a teaching job or a doctorate, unlocked the mysteries of the atom and the universe....

Warning: This article contains heavy spoilers for Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery. Director Rian Johnson’s decade-long project Knives Out debuted in theaters in 2019. With a star-studded cast of action heroes, comedians, and musical legends, the film made over $300 million at the box office. The release of the complicated mystery film had fans begging for more of Daniel Craig, who plays Detective Benoit Blanc, and the Thrombey family. At the end of Knives Out, Ransom Drysdale (Chris Evans) is arrested for the murder of his grandfather, portrayed by Christopher Plummer....

After making a name for himself in the DCEU by playing Superman in Man of Steel, Henry Cavill has another superhero in mind he’d love to play for when he inevitably comes to the MCU. As it stands, Cavill’s future as Superman is unclear, with Ta-Nehisi Coates penning a new movie and Michael B. Jordan developing his own Superman series for HBO Max. This may leave out Cavill when it comes to the future of the DCEU, but that would also potentially free up his schedule to take on the role of a Marvel character....

The Phantom of the Opera has found his new lair at the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas. Director Mike Flanagan’s modern reimagining of Shirley Jackson’s iconic novel, The Haunting of Hill House crept and spooked it’s scary-ass onto Netflix last Halloween and has since been described by many (this guy included) to be a modern masterpiece of horror. Renewed for a second season back in February, The Haunting of Hill House Season 2 will be based on Henry James’ horror novella, The Turn of the Screw and will be going by the title, The Haunting of Bly Manor....

Shrek the Third may have dominated American weekend box offices with a take of $122 million, but his fat belly couldn’t flop itself on Spider-Man 3 overseas. The third Spidey flick became the #1 film around the globe for its third consecutive week. This film is a true powerhouse of cinema, despite what the critics have had to say about it. According to Variety, the film culled an additional $49.6 million from 15,850 theaters in 105 markets....

It seems that a sequel to one of last year’s horror hits is moving forward. BrookStreet Pictures revealed on their MySpace page that a sequel to Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer is in development. Roger Moore was the third actor to take on the role of superspy James Bond, after Sean Connery and George Lazenby. As of 2022, Moore is the second-longest tenured actor to ever play the role, playing 007 for 12 years (Daniel Craig is first, with 15 years in the role). However, Moore has starred as James Bond in more films than any other actor, with seven (Sean Connery ties this number if the unofficial Bond film Never Say Never Again is included)....

Jamie Chung and Jena Malone are set to topline Sucker Punch, Zack Snyder’s all-female action fantasy for Warner Bros. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Chung and Malone join Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens and Abbie Cornish in the film, which Snyder is directing and producing with his Cruel & Unusual Films partner, wife Deborah Snyder. Set in the 1950s, Sucker Punch centers on a girl confined to a mental institution by her evil stepfather, who intends to have her lobotomized in five days....

Jericho, CBS’s hit freshman drama about the aftermath of a nuclear explosion in a small, peaceful Kansas town, will be broadcast without repeats for the remainder of the 2006-2007 season. The network announced today that it has devised a scheduling pattern to broadcast Jericho in two distinct seasons. Jericho will conclude its “fall season” with a cliffhanger finale on Wednesday, Nov. 29 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT) and come back in February with all original episodes for the remainder of the season....

Actor Eric Balfour has announced that he is directing the upcoming adaptation Jesus Hates Zombies. The project will mark his full-length feature directorial debut, although he did direct a segment of the movie Do Not Disturb. Here’s what Eric Balfour had to say below. It isn’t known who the screenwriter is on the project, although Jesus Hates Zombies is based on the graphic novel series by Stephen Lindsay. The 2019 Primetime Emmys hosted by ABC tried to do away with the slew of controversies surrounding the character and comedy stylings of their Master of Ceremonies by simply not having a host at all. The experiment was not a success, and this year, the Emmys will be calling once again on Jimmy Kimmel to host the 2020 Emmys, after already having done so twice in the past. Kimmel, who will also act as producer for the show, had this to say about his participation....

John Cusack and Hilary Duff will team for Writer/director Mark Roper’s new film, Talking to Dog, according to Moviehole. Described as a cross between Mad Max and Blue Velvet, the film is set in a post apocalyptic future where man has suffered the wrath of global warming, and woman have suffered the inability to have children. The film will also star Rodrigo Santoro, Tom Conti, Joe Anderson, Lance Henriksen and Steven Berkhoff....

It seems that the son of an infamous mobster will be telling his tale in a number of different formats. Deadline New York is reporting that John Gotti Jr., son of gangster John Gotti, is setting up deals for a new book, documentary and feature film to be based on his family life. It was said that Gotti Jr.’s story will revolve around growing up in a mob family and how he followed in his father’s footsteps to become a mob leader himself....

Actress Julianne Moore has joined the cast of the Untitled Joseph Gordon-Levitt Project (once known as Don Jon’s Addiction), which will serve as actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s feature directorial debut. We first reported on this project last month, when Scarlett Johansson signed on. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will also star as a Don Juan-type character, who goes on a journey to become a less selfish person. Julianne Moore will play a mentor to this lothario....

Even though Legacies may not have been the most popular series in The Vampire Diaries Universe, it still outdid its predecessors in some ways. In its choice to create a lighter tone, Legacies allowed for the show to occasionally take on a more satirical approach and self-awareness to the supernatural genre and the franchise itself, especially during “Salvatore: The Musical!” However, in other aspects, the show rose on its own. All the central characters are supernatural, so there is no element of waiting for a main character to discover the dangerous truths....

FX brought their upcoming X-Men TV series Legion to New York Comic Con with a Q&A panel earlier today. Series creator Noah Hawley and executive producers Laura Shuler Donner and Jeph Loeb were joined by stars Dan Stevens, Rachel Keller, Jeremie Harris, Amber Midthunder, Katie Aselton and Bill Irwin to discuss the new series. Noah Hawley used the panel appearance to announce yet another new cast member, Jemaine Clement. Deadline reports that Noah Hawley made the announcement on the stage, and through social media, sending out a photo of Jemaine Clement on Instagram and Twitter with the caption “Expect the unexpected....

Trying to get information from Gavin Hood about what will occur in Wolverine is nearly as difficult as trying to break the title mutant’s bones - nigh impossible.
