The Hollywood Reporter states that Warner Bros. has landed George Clooney as the second main lead in Gravity. Clooney replaces Robert Downey Jr. in this thrilling space drama. We reported back in October that Downey had left the project due to scheduling conflicts with Sherlock Holmes II. That report also indicated that Sandra Bullock was locked in as the main character, which has now been confirmed. Alfonso Cuarón is directing from a script he co-wrote with his son, Jonás Cuarón....

It’s no secret that Catwoman was a total dud when it was released in theaters in 2004. While star Halle Berry did as well as could be expected with the movie’s creative direction, it didn’t leave viewers impressed, serving as one of the most-criticized comic book movies of all time. It was a “winner” of multiple Golden Raspberry Awards, including Worst Picture, Worst Director, and Worst Screenplay. Berry personally took the Razzie for Worst Actress, and proving herself to be a good sport, she showed up in person to accept the award....

Harley Quinn’s Kite Man is getting his own spinoff series. With fans still patiently waiting for HBO Max to release the third season of Harley Quinn, it was revealed by series co-creator Patrick Schumacker at South by Southwest (SXSW) that there will be even more to come with the animated hit getting its first spinoff. Called Noonan’s, the spinoff will put Kite Man into the central role after he buys Noonan’s Bar, which serves as a hub for Gotham’s supervillains....

The cast of the animated Super Mario Bros. movie was recently announced, and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia fans are wondering why Danny DeVito wasn’t cast as Mario. John Carpener’s Halloween is among 25 films named to the National Film Registry by the Librarian of Congress on Wednesday, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade paper has posted an interesting article about the National Film Registry (see link at the bottom of this story) and here some highlights concerning Halloween. The National Film Registry list, begun in 1989, now numbers 450. Billington made his selections from more than 1,000 titles nominated by the public after lengthy discussions with the library’s motion picture division staff and members of the National Film Preservation Board....
