Relativity Media announced today that it has closed a deal to acquire US distribution rights to FilmNation Entertainment and A Bigger Boat’s thriller House at the End of the Street, starring Jennifer Lawrence (upcoming X-Men: First Class, Winter’s Bone), Elisabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and Max Thieriot (My Soul to Take). Directed by Mark Tonderai (Hush) and written by David Loucka (Dream House), the film is about a mother (Shue) and daughter (Lawrence) who move into a new community and find themselves next door to a house in which a psychotic young girl murdered her parents....

The Netflix original series, from Media Rights Capital, House of Cards, starring Academy Award winner Kevin Spacey (Horrible Bosses, American Beauty), Golden Globe nominee Robin Wright (The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Forrest Gump) and Kate Mara (American Horror Story) will be available for members to watch instantly beginning February 1, 2013. WarnerMedia are bringing Family Matters character Steve Urkel back to screens in animated form with the announcement that they are adding Did I Do That to the Holidays? a Steve Urkel Story to their line-up of shows and movies heading to Cartoon Network as part of their ACME Night programming block, which kicks off this month. The new addition will add DC movie Merry Little Batman and new series such as Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai and Aquaman: King of Atlantis which will all make their debuts on the network before heading to HBO Max next year....

Ahead of the wide theatrical release of Till, one of the film’s stars spoke with TMZ about what it was like to be a part of the film. Based on the tragic true story of Emmett Till, the film stars Danielle Deadwyler as Till’s mother, Mamie Till-Mobley, with Jalyn Hill co-starring as Emmett. After her son was brutally murdered in 1955 when he was just 14 years old, Till-Mobley devoted the rest of her life to activism for the Civil Rights Movement; the film is told from her perspective....

Oscar winner Jordan Peele will soon be releasing his third feature film, Nope, which follows the residents of a remote town in the midst of a UFO invasion. In one of the lead roles is acclaimed actor Daniel Kaluuya who stars alongside Steven Yeun and Keke Palmer. It’s not the first time Kaluuya has headlined a Peele film, as he previously starred in Peele’s first feature, 2017’s Get Out. Kaluuya did not appear in Peele’s only other feature, 2019’s Us, and that was only because he was “too young” to play Winston Duke’s role, according to the actor....

You can’t go anywhere involving film or comic book news anymore without finding the latest rumors about casting for Marvel Studio’s Thor. Now, Kenneth Branagh, who will be directing the film, has spoken to MTV to address where they are with the casting. “We’re down to the final stages of it,” Branagh said. “The reason one has to be properly diplomatic, is simply that some talented peopled have been patient, kind, creative and really committed to working with us in this process....

For a decade now, Quentin Tarantino has said that he’d retire after directing his 10th movie. The lauded filmmaker has stuck to his guns for 10 years, which is surprising considering that Tarantino is only 59, a wee infant compared to the geriatric geniuses who make films through their 70s, 80s, and 90s (Malick, Scorsese, Bunuel, Spielberg, Bergman, Kurosawa, the great Godard, and so on).
