In a story from Variety, they report that the web portal began selling That, “a snowboarding action pic made for DVD by Forum Snowboards.” This is the “first time iTunes has sold video content that didn’t come from an established network, studio or distributor.” iTunes hasn’t said what future arrangements with indies might ensue. Apparently, they will pick and choose companies to deal with outside of their arrangements with Disney, NBC and Lionsgate....

Paramount Digital Entertainment in association with MTV, both part of Viacom Inc. announced today that it plans to add another original project to its popular digital programming line-up: Jackass 3.5, which will premiere in March 2011. The third installment of Jackass from Paramount Pictures and MTV Films - Jackass 3D - hit theaters on October 15, 2010 and has already grossed over $155 million at the worldwide box office. The film stars Johnny Knoxville and the boys and was produced by Dickhouse Production’s Jeff Tremaine and Spike Jonze, along with Knoxville....

James Cameron recently spoke with MTV about his proposed plans for the upcoming Avatar sequels, and the novelization he has been working on since the first film debuted to record numbers last December. The acclaimed director doesn’t rule out shooting Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 back-to-back. In fact, he would prefer it that way. The back-to-back sequels Avatar 2 and Avatar 3 may not be next on James Cameron’s to-do list, as Deadline reports the director is exploring the possibility of making Angelina Jolie’s Cleopatra his next priority. James Cameron and Sony Pictures Entertainment are currently discussing the project, which will be based on Stacy Schiff’s book ‘Cleopatra: A Life’. Angelina Jolie has been attached to this 3D project for quite sometime, and is anxious to make the movie happen soon....

James Schamus and Ang Lee are planning another reunion, this time for Focus Features’ Taking Woodstock. According to Variety, Lee will direct and Schamus will write the script for the comedy that is based on Elliot Tiber’s memoir “Taking Woodstock: A True Story of a Riot, Concert, and a Life,” co-written with author Tom Monte. Set during the politically turbulent summer of ‘69, story follows an Everyman working at his parents’ motel in the Catskills who inadvertently sets in motion what would become the generation-defining concert....

The Good A strongly told tale that is superbly acted. The Bad Why didn’t we get a proper version of this movie to review? Jimmy and Judy is the cinema verite tale of two people who seem destined to be together. Jimmy (Edward Furlong) is doing his best in this role of a pretty deranged person. However, as we see his life and his parents and the lies that are all around him, it is quite easy to see how he ended up this way....

An aloof and dissociative teen takes home alone to the extreme in a puzzling psychological thriller. John and the Hole has a tennis-loving spoiled brat dumping his family in an unfinished bunker. Then engaging in weird activities while his parents and sister starve in a muddy pit. There’s a lot that doesn’t make any sense. Including a seemingly unrelated subplot that I didn’t understand at all. The film’s premise is intriguing....

Like zombies, the vampire genre has been done to death. Many creature features slap some make-up and prosthetics on an actor, dump a few gallons of fake blood, and call it a day. Some recent takes have gotten it right. The Strain series brought us an original pass at the monsters, pulling its gnarly visuals brilliantly from the trilogy of novels co-written by horror guru Guillermo del Toro. Another gem is Blood Red Sky, which shows us what happens when a vampire is stuck on a hijacked plane....
