Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen is getting a television spin-off. Miramax has confirmed the series development, with Ritchie returning as an executive producer and co-writer. The series was first reported to be in negotiation at Netflix last month. The Gentlemen received its US release in early 2020, one of the few films to get a theatrical run just before the pandemic. CBS Films announced today that they have secured the rights to Marc Maurino’s original screenplay, Inside the Machine. ContraFilm brought the script to CBS, which pre-emptively purchased the rights. ContraFilm principals Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson (Journey to the Center of the Earth, The Exorcism of Emily Rose) are attached to produce. Unlike HBO’s Game of Thrones, AMC’s The Walking Dead will seemingly never have to worry about the TV series potentially catching up to Robert Kirkman’s comic books.
