Just think, you start the show as the everyday average person, complete a few “simple” puzzles or answer a few questions, and you walk away with tons of extra cash. Easy, right? What’s just as much fun as appearing on them and winning money? Why, watching them of course, if viewership statistics is any indication. Many people love to watch games shows and dream about what it would be like to win money and have your life forever changed....

NBC’s The Jay Leno Show is only a few short weeks away from dominating in prime time, so it should come as no surprise that guests are already lining-up to appear on the variety show. According to Variety, Jerry Seinfeld has been handpicked as Leno’s first guest. Seinfeld is expected to do a stand-up routine on the debut episode. Other guests appearing that night will be the combined triple threat of Jay Z, Kayne West, and Rihanna....

Famed veteran actor John Goodman has established himself as an inspiration to people who have been having trouble shedding that extra weight. The Big Lebowski star recently showed off his amazing body transformation at the Red Carpet premiere of Tubi’s The Freak Brothers. Goodman has managed to lose over 100 lbs in the past decade, at 69 years old. John Goodman currently voices the character ‘Fat Freddy’ in the animated comedy The Freak Brothers....

Arguably the greatest movie composer of his time, John Williams has composed more than 75 film scores. Williams has a way of simplifying an entire film score, theme, or character into a few powerful bars. When we see an Indiana Jones poster or shark attack, we think of William’s accompanying music before it plays. With two notes he created a villain, and with a simple chorus he makes galaxies far, far away and fantastical worlds seem like our own backyard....

Jon Paul Steuer, former Star Trek actor, has passed away at the age of 33. The cause of his death has not been revealed at this time. Steuer died on January 1, as revealed via a Facebook post by his bandmates in the Portland rock band P.R.O.B.L.E.M.S. Here’s what they had to say about his passing. As an actor, Jon Paul Steuer got his big break portraying the Klingon Alexander Rozhenko, son of Worf and K’Ehleyr in the Star Trek universe, on the episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Firstborn, which aired in 1994 as part of the show’s seventh and final season....

With fans still stunned at the possibility of a Spider-Man musical, casting for Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark is still ongoing, with Evan Rachel Wood, who was initially considered a lock for the role of Mary Jane Watson, now uncertain about if she has the part. MTV spoke to director Julie Taymor about Wood’s involvement, and she says that it isn’t a scheduling issue keeping Wood from locking the part down....

FX, basic cable’s leader for year-round scripted programming, has announced its early 2013 release dates. The Emmy Award-winning Justified returns for Season 4 on January 8, and will continue to run Tuesdays at 10 PM ET/PT. Developed by Graham Yost and starring Timothy Olyphant, Justified is based on the works of crime novelist Elmore Leonard, including Leonard’s short story “Fire in the Hole.” In Season 3, Deputy US Marshal Raylan Givens (Olyphant) faced off against dirty politics, hidden fortunes, a mysterious criminal ringleader named Limehouse, and Quarles, an ambitious gangster from the underbelly of Motor City....

FilmNation Entertainment announced today that they will handle international sales for The Comedian. The drama will be directed by Sean Penn (Into the Wild) and will star two-time Academy Award winner Robert De Niro and Kristen Wiig (Bridesmaids). Written by Art Linson with Jeffrey Ross, the movie will be produced by Art Linson (Into the Wild), John Linson, Jon Kilik and Robert De Niro. Shannon Costello will be associate producing....

The actress goes domestic in her first after “Sex in the City” role Kristin Davis has taken an unlikely career turn post “Sex in the City”. She plays a mother and wife in her first after show role. I’ve never seen one episode of “Sex in the City”, but am quite amazed by its impact on popular culture. Kristin embraces the change, but still credits the show for its effect on her career....

The first trailer for Legends of Tomorrow season 4 has arrived. The footage made its debut at San Diego Comic-Con at a panel to showcase the upcoming season of the DC series and The CW promptly dropped the trailer online for all to see. If you haven’t kept up with Legends of Tomorrow, it’s quite possibly the craziest comic book show on TV right now and this new trailer is proof that they’re not afraid to get even weirder as the time-traveling heroes set out on another season’s worth of adventures....

Fans of the original ’90s show Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers and its subsequent iterations will remember Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver. He was first introduced on the series as the Green Ranger, joining a team of five other heroes with their own unique colors. Frank is synonymous with Power Rangers and widely considered to be the fan favorite character from the series. In reality, Frank is just as much of a badass as his Power Rangers character, specially trained in various forms of martial arts....

Greg Kinnear and Jane Curtin have been added to the cast of The Weinstein Company’s I Don’t Know How She Does It, starring previously announced Sarah Jessica Parker and Pierce Brosnan. In this comedy of a working mother trying desperately to juggle marriage, children, and a high-stress job, Kinnear will play Parker’s husband and Curtin will be Kinnear’s mother, Parker’s mother-in-law. Currently filming in New York, I Don’t Know How She Does It is directed by Douglas McGrath (Emma, Infamous), produced by Donna Gigliotti (Shakespeare in Love, Let Me In) and executive produced by Scott Ferguson and Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada), who is also the screenwriter....

OK, so if you’ve been following the weekly column you’ll know that I was less than satisfied with last week’s episode.
