HBO’s much-awaited prequel of the fantasy series Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon, has finally hit the screens. Though still in the middle of its first season, House of the Dragon lives up to its hype of yet another war for the Iron Throne, especially keeping in mind the controversial finale of the original series. Per Collider, the series premiere pulled in close to 20 million viewers to the streaming service, each tuning in to witness the eerie dance of the dragon....

Ted Lasso, an entire show originally based on a commercial, was a series that no one expected to be of any quality. A one joke idea (a fish out of water American is completely out of his depth in English sport) on a new streaming platform no one had heard of (eating an actual apple is less of a mouthful than “Apple TV+”) had somehow gotten its strategy right, becoming a huge hit with a first season to remember....

We’ve reached the 20th anniversary of the drama I Am Sam. Starring Sean Penn in his Oscar-nominated lead role as a father with an intellectual disability, the film was directed by Jessie Nelson, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Kristine Johnson. Looking back at the movie in honor of its big anniversary, Nelson opened up about her memories of developing I Am Sam two decades ago in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter....

As a rabid horror fan, I have to say that horror has been (no pun intended) killing it on TV this past year. And the future looks just as bright. John Krasinski’s Some Good News weekly YouTube series is moving to CBS All Access after a huge bidding war. Krasinski wrapped up the series last weekend after 8 weeks. He will not be returning as the host when the series comes back, though he’ll be on board as a producer. Viacom and CBS have yet to announce who will be taking over hosting duties from Krasinski. After the episodes stream on All Access, they’ll “move to a number of the company’s linear networks....

Johnny Depp’s lawyers are arguing against a motion for his defamation trial verdict to be thrown out, even if one of the jurors had been fraudulent as suggested by Amber Heard. Following the verdict, which saw the jury siding heavily with Depp, Heard’s lawyers requested a retrial or the verdict to be tossed based on a revelation about one of the jurors. Team Heard alleges that one of the jurors had taken the place of another person who happened to have the same name, and because of this falsehood, they want the verdict nullified....

Johnny Depp has been enjoying his time away from the courtroom by jumping back into the world of music, and many cheering fans welcomed him with open arms. Recently, Jeff Beck surprised fans attending a stop on his UK tour with an appearance from Depp. The two performed multiple songs as the fans in attendance cheered them both on. Season 1 of Girl Meets World is still going strong on Disney XD, with the network issuing a renewal for Season 2 back in August.
