A new rumor claims that beloved action hero Jason Statham has joined the ever-growing pantheon that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Coming courtesy of Giant Freakin Robot, who have been proven absolutely right about several claims regarding the recent Marvel outing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jason Statham will add his name to the comic book movie roster. Currently, the report has no word on who Statham will be playing in the MCU, but they do suggest that the actor would make a good live-action iteration of Union Jack....
Pixar’s Lightyear represents the company’s first attempt at a theatrical spinoff, and it’s a few levels deep into its own lore, which has some people scratching their heads. According to IMDB, Lightyear is based on the “real life” inspiration for the Buzz Lightyear character, but the director recently came out and said it might have all spawned from this in-universe movie. Disney may want the audience to interpret it for themselves....
With an eye toward audiences of all ages and promoting both NBC’s broadcast of the Olympics and DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming theatrical release of its 3D animated feature film, How to Train Your Dragon, DreamWorks Animation has produced a series of seven winter sports-themed custom, CG animated vignettes tied to the film, which opens nationwide on March 26th. The vignettes will be fully integrated across all NBC platforms, including the Today Show, CNBC, USA and MSNBC as well as during the network’s regularly scheduled telecasts of the Vancouver Games....

Faran Tahir wants to make it clear that his character from Iron Man, Raza, is a villain but is not totally evil. Tahir told SCI FI Wire that director Jon favreau gave him the opportunity to humanize the character. “I tried to find ways to show that although he may be the bad guy, there might be a moment or just a hint of vulnerability at times, where he hasn’t made the right calculations or there’s a certain amount of doubt,” Tahir said....

National Treasure director John Turteltaub has signed a multi-year deal with CBS Paramount Network TV. According to Variety, Turteltaub will create a drama, a comedy, and a realty series for the channel. Turteltaub made his network directorial debut with the series Jericho. Though not yet a confirmed hit, the series did return from the cancellation grave. CBS president David Stapf stated of Turteltaub and his team, “They are smart, collaborative and have been extremely instrumental in making the show a cult favorite....
