Director Kevin Macdonald (State of Play) is ready for his next project: the Roman military drama The Eagle of the Ninth. According to Variety, Jamie Bell is set to star in the 2nd century A.D. tale, and Channing Tatum is in talks to join him. Jeremy Brock wrote the script, who teamed with Macdonald on The Last King of Scotland. The story revolves around a wounded Roman soldier and his loyal Celtic slave who try to solve the mystery of the Ninth Legion, a brigade of Roman soldiers that vanished after heading into the untamed Highlands of Scotland 15 years earlier....

Liberation Entertainment Ltd has agreed a multi territory DVD deal with Jetix Consumer Products, the licensing division of leading kids entertainment company Jetix Europe, for classic Marvel Entertainment animated series. The deal gives Liberation Entertainment exclusive DVD distribution rights for popular Marvel character based animated series including Spider-Man, The Incredible Hulk, X-Men, The Fantastic Four, Silver Surfer and Spider Woman. Territories covered by the deal are the UK and Ireland, Benelux, Germany as well as German-speaking Austria and Switzerland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland....

IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures today announced that Happy Feet: The IMAX Experience contributed $2.4 million of the film’s $41.5 million domestic gross on its opening weekend, representing the strongest IMAX opening ever for an animated title. The IMAX gross came from 79 IMAX theatres, posting a three-day per-screen average of approximately $30,000 from Friday, November 17 through Sunday, November 19. There have been rumors and speculation circulating for some time surrounding how the actor will play into proceedings, with the cast list describing Keoghan’s role as “Unseen Arkham Prisoner.” Revealed by The Batman Film News, the mystery continues thanks to another credit listing Mike Marino as “Prosthetics Design -The Penguin & Unseen Arkham Prisoner” — which heavily suggests that Keoghan will undergo some sort of transformation for whatever character he is on board to play....
Apple TV is in talks to start carrying Time Warner’s HBO Go application on their set-top boxes, possibly by the middle of 2013, according to two unidentified sources. If a deal is finalized, HBO subscribers will be able to watch over 600 hours of programming on their Apple TV devices. Adding HBO Go would provide a sizable boost to Apple TV’s lineup of services, which already include Netflix and Hulu Plus....

Heroes star Jack Coleman has signed on to reprise his role as Noah Bennett (a.k.a. The Man in the Horn-Rimmed Glasses/HRG) in NBC’s upcoming mini-series Heroes Reborn. The official Twitter feed for Heroes Reborn confirmed the news with the following photo. We first reported on Heroes Reborn back in February, after the network released a brief trailer for the show during its coverage of the Winter Olympics.
