Actress Danielle Savre is making the leap from Heroes to victim. Fangoria reports that the young actress has scored a leading role in Ghost House Pictures and Mandate Pictures’ Boogeyman 2, which is currently in preproduction under the direction of Jeff Betancourt. Savre will play Laura Porter, a young woman who checks into a mental clinic in an effort to dispel her fear of the bogeyman. While at the clinic, she makes a few crazy friends and must face the titular closet-dweller....

Often called one of the scariest movies ever made, the Insidious franchise is back, and filming on the fifth installment has officially wrapped. Twitter is a buzz with news of Jason David Frank. Earlier this morning, close friend and fellow martial artist Mike Bronzoulis, reported his passing. TMZ has since confirmed the actor’s passing by suicide; he was 49. Frank is most well known by fans around the world as Tommy Oliver, the original Green Power Ranger from the hit 90’s series Mighty Morphin’ Power Rangers. Tommy was originally introduced as a new student to Angel Grove High School, who was captured by the evil Rita Repulsa and enchanted to be her servant....

Two of the men behind the cult classic TV series Freaks and Geeks are joining forces once again, this time for a silver-screen project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Judd Apatow, who wrote and executive produced Freaks and Geeks, is reteaming with Freaks and Geeks series creator Paul Feig for a new, untitled comedy project for Universal Pictures. Kristen Wiig is attached to star in the film and she also co-wrote the screenplay with Annie Mumolo, which revolves around two women fighting it out to control their friend’s wedding party....

In a story from Variety, it seems that Katia Lund (co-director of City Of God) will be directing Dancing Arabs. Budgeted at $5 million the movie is an adaptation of Sayed Kashua’s autobiographical novel which has the same title. Kashua will be adapting the screenplay.
