July is about to heat up with some extended Jet Li action. Jet Li’s Fearless will be re-released in an all new director’s cut on July 15. Broken Lizard’s own Paul Soter is looking to cast Johnny Knoxville in his upcoming zombie thriller, which is currently untitled. At least, that is, according to MTV. The film is a decided change of pace for Soter, a filmmaker best known for his comedies. “[It’s] not a comedy at all. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kevin Kline and Milla Jovovich are poised to star in the sex trafficking drama Welcome to America, which will be released by Lions Gate Films in North America, producer Centropolis Entertainment said Sunday. Based on The Girls Next Door, a January 2003 New York Times Magazine cover story by Peter Landesman about sex slavery, America was developed by Centropolis partner Roland Emmerich (The Day After Tomorrow) and producer Rosilyn Heller (The Beans of Egypt Maine) with Oscar-nominated screenwriter Jose Rivera (The Motorcycle Diaries) and up-and-coming German director Marco Kreuzpaintner, who directed the festival hit Summer Storm, which will be released in 2006 by Regent Entertainment....

Michael Jackson, the child star turned King of Pop who set the world dancing but whose musical genius was overshadowed by a bizarre lifestyle and sex scandals, died on Thursday. He was 50. Jackson was pronounced dead at 2:26 p.m. PDT (9:26 p.m. EDT) after arriving at a Los Angeles hospital in full cardiac arrest, said Fred Corral of the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office. The cause of death was not known and an autopsy would likely take place on Friday, he said....
