FXX has dropped the first trailer for It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia season 14. The gang is back to take on some new adventures, which even teases a black and white episode. Paramount Pictures will celebrate Christmas with Jack Ryan next year, issuing a December 25, 2013 release date for the reboot formerly known as the Untitled Jack Ryan Project. This action-adventure will go up against Keanu Reeves’ 47 Ronin and Ben Stiller’s The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. Chris Pine has long been attached to play the title character, who is working in Moscow as a financial analyst, before his days at the CIA....
James Cameron is the latest director to speak out against the mega-successful superhero genre, as he claims the characters lack depth. Cameron is the filmmaker behind some highly successful projects, including The Terminator, Aliens, Titanic, and Avatar. The sequel 13 years in the making is set for release later this year, with Avatar: The Way of Water arriving in December. During an interview with The New York Times, Cameron voiced his displeasure with the characters’ immaturity in the long-running DCEU and MCU franchises, saying, “they all act like they’re in college....
James Gunn is riding high on a wave of love for the Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special right now, but he is already hard at work on his new job over as the head of DC Studios. While there is still to be a formal announcement of where the DCU will be heading in the next decade, the first four years of which, at least, will be under the guidance of Gunn and Peter Safran, the writer-director has said there will be a greater connection coming to the DC output across all platforms....
It seems that Joaquin Phoenix’s recent retirement from acting hasn’t suited the actor. Either that, or it was all a clever ploy in creating his upcoming rap documentary with Casey Affleck. In an interview with Mumbia Mirror, Oscar winning sound engineer Resul Pookutty, who won for his work on Slumdog Millionaire, announced that Phoenix, an Oscar-winning thespian himself, is set to return to the big screen sometime next year in an adaptation of Daniel Stashower’s The Beautiful Cigar Girl....
The animated series adaptation of Grubbs has found its voice cast. Variety reports that a slew of names have been confirmed, and with it comes a reunion of 90s sitcom stars Jodie Sweetin and Jaleel White. Both rose to fame as former child stars with Sweetin on Full House and White on Family Matters. Their characters, Stephanie Tanner and Steve Urkel, had even met when a Full House episode brought in the Family Matters favorite for a special crossover....
In a story from Variety, Freida Pinto (Slumdog Millionaire) and John Lithgow have joined Rise of the Apes for 20th Century Fox. This film is a prequel to Planet of the Apes. John Lithgow will be playing the father of James Franco’s character. Pinto will play the part of Caroline, a primatologist. Chernin Entertainment is producing this prequel. Peter Jackson’s WETA digital is going to create photo-realistic apes, instead of costumed actors, for the first time in the franchise....

To promote Jake Kasdan’s upcoming Dewey Cox biopic Walk Hard, Dewey and his band The Hard Walkers have come out of retirement to tour for the first time since 1984. They will be performing classic tracks from the film, as well as screening the feature beforehand for your enjoyment. Dewey kicked things off tonight in Los Angeles at the Roxy, which became the Coxy for one-night only. The performance was solid, with Cox giving a rousing hour and four-minute tour de force....
When it was announced that there would be a new category at this year’s Oscars to recognize some fan favorites, the opportunity was quickly seen as a chance for Justice League supporters to finally get recognition for Zack Snyder’s cut of the movie. FX Networks announced a slew of pickups this morning, with Justified getting a fifth season pickup on FX, while It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, The League and Legit will all return and move to FXX, announced John Landgraf, President & General Manager, FX Networks. The critically-acclaimed drama series Justified, starring Timothy Olyphant, will continue to run on FX. Season 5 begins production this fall and will air on FX in January 2014....
A Frasier reboot is happening but the real question is, which version of the reboot are we going to get? Kelsey Grammer has confirmed that they are in the works on a revival of sorts of the classic sitcom. This is something we first heard about in July 2018 but now, the actor behind Dr. Frasier Crane has confirmed personally that they are currently trying to hammer the story down. The only problem is that, at present, they have six different ideas....
While there still hasn’t been any official announcement, it seems that things are moving forward regarding Kenneth Branagh being set to direct Marvel Studio’s Thor. According to WhatsOnStage.com, Branagh has pulled out of directing Hamlet for London’s Wyndham Theatre because of the film. Branagh’s film and stage history are filled with the works of Shakespeare, and Branagh’s film directing debut was with the critically acclaimed Henry V. It seems extremely unlikely that he would step away from directing Hamlet, especially with Jude Law set to star, unless things were looking very promising for Thor....
The MCU has now released more than 40 movies and TV shows over the last fifteen years, with almost as many again coming in the next three years. With that in mind it is not surprising that some people are happy to be harbingers of doom for the Marvel franchise in the near future, saying that “Superhero fatigue” is coming, and the entire franchise is going to implode on itself. Kevin Feige doesn’t buy into that line of thinking, especially having been asked how long the franchise is capable of lasting since pretty much its conception....
Ahead of its official premiere on the network this November, Showtime has released the first trailer for season 2 of the Jim Carrey series Kidding. In addition to bringing back Carrey as children’s entertainer Jeff Pickles, the footage also reveals the inclusion of pop star Ariana Grande as a pickle fairy. Frank Langella, Catherine Keener, and Judy Greer also star. The series will pick up directly after the events of the previous scene, showing Jeff entering the next difficult stage of his life....
Konami Digital Entertainment, Inc., today announced Saw is being developed for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system, Playstation 3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. Saw will invite players to engage in a horrific game inside the treacherous corridors of an abandoned insane asylum that has been transformed into a gauntlet of terrors by Jigsaw, Saw’s maniacal antagonist. Saw will expand the survival horror genre by allowing players, for the first time to experience the terror of SAW on the game console, by pitting them against Jigsaw, his brutal traps and the mind bending puzzles that have become synonymous with the film franchise....

When Slow Horses reaches its finale, it just might be the curtain call for Gary Oldman. Based on the original novels by Mick Herron, the spy thriller series debuted on Apple TV+ in April, and Oldman is set to reprise his role in the second season that’s due to premiere on Dec. 2. Earlier this year, the show was also given a two-season renewal, keeping Slow Horses around on Apple TV+ for some time to come....
