If you’ve reached the end of your latest binge of The Golden Girls, you will soon be able to keep the party going by streaming every episode of the short-lived spinoff series. Dubbed The Golden Palace, the spinoff aired for just one season following the conclusion of The Golden Girls, and because it hasn’t been available for streaming, it’s largely been forgotten. That changes next month as Hulu announced that The Golden Palace starts streaming in January....

EA’s Casual Entertainment Label and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game will be released later this year to coincide with the Warner Bros. Pictures film based on J.K. Rowling’s sixth Harry Potter book. “We believe that the Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince video game represents a milestone in the movie tie-in genre,” said Harvey Elliott, Head of EA Bright Light studio in the UK where the Harry Potter franchise has its home....

The Good An interesting movie that shows the beautifully, complex commingling of different cultures. The Bad I wish I could have known a little more about Christian Bale’s character. David Ayer, the writer of Training Day, courts semi-familiar territory in his directing debut Harsh Times. This film follows Jim (Christian Bale) and Mike (Freddy Rodriguez) as two long time friends who are driving around looking for employment in Los Angeles. At least that’s what they should be doing....

Toshiba seems to be seeing some happy returns after dropping the prices of their HD-DVD players. In a story from Video Business, it appears that “since Toshiba began offering a $100 instant rebate on HD-DVD players, sales have grown between fivefold and tenfold, depending on the retailer, said Jodi Sally, VP of marketing for Toshiba America Consumer Products.” “We’re thrilled to see that consumers are, by far, choosing Toshiba’s HD-DVD players as their source for high-definition,” Sally says....

Titane is the latest movie from the New French Extremity film movement (Martyrs, Inside), and it is not only extreme but also incredibly strange, unlike anything people had seen in 2021. Watching the film is a unique experience, and everything from the acting to the soundtrack is raw, fresh, intense, and brutal. Queen Latifah’s newest series on CBS, The Equalizer, tackles a wide array of social, political, and economic disparities in communities of color. The reboot to the 2014 and 2018 film (both directed by Antoine Fuqua and starring Denzel Washington, not to mention the original 1980s series, created by Michael Sloan and originally airing on the CBS network) are all based around a retired intelligence agent who utilizes their set of skills from their prior careers to bring closure and justice to innocent people who find themselves in menacing circumstances....

Hulu is getting deeper into the comic book adaptation game, as the streaming service has ordered a pilot based on the IDW series Locke & Key. Writer Joe Hill is involved in bringing the series to television, along with Carlton Cuse, who has worked on shows like Lost, Bates Motel and The Strain. The pilot for Locke & Key has already found a director in Scott Derrickson, who most recently directed Doctor Strange for Marvel Studios....

Scott Sigler’s thriller novel Infested, to be published by book publisher Random House, Inc.’s imprint Crown Publishers in the U.S. and Canada next spring, has been acquired for development by Random House Films and Rogue Pictures. Andrew Karpen and Andrew Rona, Co-Presidents of Rogue Pictures, part of NBC Universal; and Peter Gethers, President, Random House Films, a division of Random House, Inc., made the announcement today. The thriller by acclaimed horror and science fiction writer Scott Sigler is the first in a series of at least two books....

Controversy is certainly not needed to produce a successful all-time comedy show; however, almost every series we consider to be the best to ever exist has had their moments of controversy throughout their runs. Just ask South Park, which despite its massive success, has some of the most controversial television episodes ever produced. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia is most assuredly one of those shows that has never shied away from controversial topics or gone to questionable lengths to obtain a laugh, and while it doesn’t quite make IMDb’s list of the twenty most controversial television shows, it certainly has its share of moments....

Just when you thought it was safe to go back to the toy store, “Pow!” They hit you with another upper left. The Transformers movie is doing wonders for 80s nostalgia. First, we reported earlier this week that a G.I. Joe movie was on the way. Maybe. Now, Variety is reporting that Warner Brothers plans to make a Thundercats film. Can you believe it? Unlike Transformers and G.I. Joe, not to mention The Care Bears and Strawberry Shortcake, The Thundercats were one of the only 80s toy spin-off cartoons that didn’t get a big screen animated film back in the day....

BBC announced today that Robert Galbraith’s Cormoran Strike novels will be adapted for a major new television series for BBC One, produced by Bronte Film and TV. The Cuckoo’s Calling (published by Little, Brown) is the first in the Cormoran Strike series and J.K. Rowling’s first crime novel written under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. The Cuckoo’s Calling was published to critical acclaim in 2013 and went on to be a global bestseller, followed in 2014 by The Silkworm....

After two decades of working very closely together, James Franco and Seth Rogen are no longer collaborating on any projects for the foreseeable future. This all stems from sexual misconduct allegations against Franco, which he has largely avoided speaking out publicly. He’ll be telling his side of the story from beginning to end in a lengthy interview for The Jess Cagle Show on Thursday, and in a snippet released online, Franco explains how he considered Rogen his closest work friend and still has a lot of love for him....

Iron Man director Jon Favreau has signed on to direct a Season 9 episode of the NBC comedy series The Office later this year. It will be one of the last episodes of this hit series, as the show comes to its end this spring. The filmmaker is still ironing out his schedule, so it isn’t clear which episode he will direct. While best known for directing big-screen blockbusters such as Iron Man and Iron Man 2, Jon Favreau has also directed an episode of the short-lived Fox series Undeclared, and the pilot episode of NBC’s current hit Revolution....

Since every season of FX’s hit horror anthology series American Horror Story is always much different than the last, it’s never quite clear which cast members are coming back, and which aren’t. Today, series creator Ryan Murphy revealed that series newcomers Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett have been asked to come back next season. Yesterday, we reported that FX handed out a 13-episode order for Season 4 of the hit series, which will likely debut next October....

Basketball Wives star Brooke Bailey is mourning the death of her only daughter, Kayla Bailey, who died on Sunday, September 25, 2022, of undisclosed causes at the age of 25. Kayla was involved in a car accident earlier on Sunday. The reality star, 45, announced her daughter’s passing in a post on Instagram. “Forever my baby, Pretty Black aka Kayla Nicole Bailey. This is not a goodbye. Mommy will see you soon,” Brooke captioned a series of photos of her daughter over the years on September 25’s Instagram post....

Kevin Spacey is heading to court, and he’s doing so “voluntarily.” Recently, it was announced by the Crown Prosecution Service that Spacey is getting charged with four counts of sexual assault involving three alleged victims in the UK. There had been speculation over whether Spacey would have to be formally extradited by the United States to face these criminal charges across the pond, but the House of Cards still will speed up the process by willingly appearing in court....
