John Madden is in talks to direct Columbia Pictures’ remake of the classic musical My Fair Lady. According to Variety, Madden will continue the search for his leading lady and man in the new year. Though Kiera Knightley has been circling the project for some time, there is no formal agreement for her to play Eliza. The remake will draw more closely on Alan Jay Lerner’s book and the original play it is based on – George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion” – than on 1964’s George Cukor-helmed Warner Bros....

Director Chad Stahelski has been discussing nunchucks and praising John Wick: Chapter 4 star Keanu Reeves while declaring that both he and his star need to get even better for John Wick 5. Speaking with IGN, the action movie filmmaker revealed that Reeves knocked himself out multiple times when learning how to wield nunchucks for the upcoming fourth outing. It’s hard to imagine how the actor could dedicate himself anymore to the franchise, but that’s precisely what Stahelski believes needs to happen....

Jon Turteltaub has signed on to develop the languishing Fox 2000 project Beached as a directing vehicle, which will capitalize on the popularity of Olympic swimming. The story centers on a four-year-old boy who falls overboard during a family trip. The overweight lad is then raised by whales before going on to become an Olympic swimmer. Swimming was one of the most popular events at the Summer Olympics that took place in London earlier this month....

Revolutionary Road writer Justin Haythe is in talks to write the script for Walt Disney Pictures’ The Lone Ranger. According to Heat Vision, Jerry Bruckheimer is producing the project, which stars Johnny Depp and George Clooney. Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio were previously attached to write the script. The Lone Ranger’s origin story begins with a group of Texas Rangers chasing down a gang of outlaws led by Butch Cavendish. The gang ambushes the Rangers, seemingly killing them all....

An amusing ad for Paramount+ brings together personalities from many different shows available to watch on the streaming platform. Among those appearing in the ad is actor Keegan-Michael Key, reprising his role as Mr. Garvey, a substitute teacher who struggles to correctly pronounce students’ names in a popular Key & Peele sketch. He’s back at it with the Paramount+ ad taking a similar approach, but this time, he’s trying to guide other TV show characters in climbing up the Paramount Mountain....

Adam Goodman, President of Paramount Pictures Film Group, announced today the completion of principle casting on writer/director Craig Brewer’s Footloose. Following an extensive worldwide search, newcomer Kenny Wormald will play the highly coveted role of ‘Ren’, opposite previously announced star Julianne Hough as ‘Ariel’. Dennis Quaid also joins the cast in the role of ‘Reverend Moore’, along with Miles Teller as ‘Willard’. Craig Zadan, who also served as a producer on the original film, joins his longtime creative partner Neil Meron (Chicago) and producers Brad Weston and Dylan Sellers (Agent Cody Banks) on the remake....

Fans of 24 hoping to see Jack Bauer again may have that wish fulfilled, as Kiefer Sutherland is right there with them. After debuting as the character in the original 24, Sutherland served behind the scenes as an executive producer for the revival series 24: Legacy.
