After months of hopeful speculation, J.J. Abrams has officially signed on to direct Star Trek 2, which is a sequel to 2009’s galactic hit that starred Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto. The Supergirl Season 2 Premiere on The CW set a ratings record for the network on Monday night, setting the tone for the season ahead. During a press screening for the second episode on Tuesday, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed that Mehcad Brooks’ Jimmy Olsen will in fact become the DC Comics hero The Guardian, signalling yet another big shift between Jimmy’s character in the comics and the series. Jodie Whittaker is officially leaving Doctor Who along with showrunner Chris Chibnall in 2022. After taking on the role of the Thirteenth Doctor in 2017, Whittaker has now confirmed her intent to soon leave the show following recent rumors that her exit was imminent. Chibnall and executive producer Matt Stevens are also leaving with Whittaker with all three concluding their runs with the series with a feature-length special next year....

The mockup city contains three sections each constructed like a different time period in Korean history (60s, 70s, and 80s). Every detail, from the telephone poles to the alley cats, is historically accurate. Warner Bros. has an offer out for Guy Ritchie to direct Xerxes, the 300 companion piece which most believed Zack Snyder would direct. We reported back in October that Zack Snyder is directing Superman for Warner Bros. There is speculation that the Superman script needs more work, especially in the third act. It is also rumored that Zack Snyder’s latest movie Sucker Punch is testing poorly, which may be why the studio is offering Xerxes to another director....
