There’s nothing new about horror anthologies on television, seen from The Twilight Zone and The Outer Limits to somewhat recent titles like Channel Zero and Black Mirror. The anthology has been making somewhat of a comeback, with American Horror Stories, Love, Death + Robots, Creepshow and many more having aired this year alone. The great thing about anthologies is their capacity to showcase a wide spectrum of talent; there is certainly a lot of talent out there, but for anthologies, it really comes down to who is curating it....

The host of the new NBC reality show talks about the upcoming series NBC is gearing up for its latest reality contest series Minute To Win It premieres on Sunday, March 14th with a two-hour series premiere starting at 7 PM ET and the show will debut in its regular time slot on March 21st at 8 PM ET on NBC. National CineMedia’s FATHOM is digging into the infamous Halloween vault and bringing psychotic murderer Michael Myers back to the big screen in a double-dose of horror with Halloween 4 - The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5 - The Revenge of Michael Myers. Digitally remastered in High-Definition, the Halloween double feature will be presented by NCM’s FATHOM and MONSTERS HD, the first-ever and only 24-hour channel exclusively devoted to horror, on October 30th in 250 movie theatres around the country....

Halo has become the latest video game to receive a live-action adaptation. Games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Mortal Kombat, and Detective Pikachu have been translated for the big screen, but Halo has become an original series on Paramount+. The series was able to finally get off the ground after many years in development purgatory. It has presented fans with a new take on the Halo universe, taking them back to the days of the Human-Covenant War....

Nicole Buyer, Harvey Guillén, Jessica Lowe and Andrew Lewis Caldwell are headed to Comedy Central just in time for Halloween. The four will star in the supernatural comedy thriller Cursed Friends. The film is a collaboration between Will Arnett’s Electric Avenue and Propagate, and will include an appearance by Arnett. The film’s cast also includes Joey Fatone, James Austin Johnson, Nikki Glaser, Kathy Griffin, Nicole Richie, Ken Marino and Rob Riggle....

HBO has just acquired a number of feature films from the Disney vault. According to The Hollywood Reporter, some of the films include Pearl Harbor, The Sixth Sense, and Pulp Fiction. The deal consists of one hundred titles from the Walt Disney Studios, including films from Touchstone Pictures, Hollywood Pictures, and Miramax Films. The date of availability on each title varies, with the rights to the first film kicking in on January of 2009....

Director Michael Mann’s Heat 2 novel, which the filmmaker has written with Edgar-winner Meg Gardiner and will act as both a prequel and a sequel to his seminal 1995 crime drama, has now been given a release date of August 9. While speaking with Deadline, Michael Mann has revealed not only when readers will be able to delve back into the slick and slippery world of Heat, but also a few more details into his approach crafting this simultaneous sequel and prequel....

The 13th Annual Hollywood Film Festival and Hollywood Awards, presented by Starz, have announced that two-time Academy Award-winning actress Hilary Swank will be honored with the “Hollywood Actress Award” at the festival’s Hollywood Awards Gala Ceremony. The gala ceremony will take place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on October 26, 2009. The hit HBO series Game of Thrones ended in May 2019 on a rather sour note for a majority of fans. A significant number of viewers were unhappy with the concluding chapter of the series, which drove their demands for a return to the Game of Thrones storyline. Fans finally got their wish when a prequel to Game of Thrones, titled House of the Dragon, was announced in October 2019. The wait has been long, but the series has been scheduled to premiere on HBO on August 21, 2022....

Hip-hop icon and TV legend Ice-T is all set to receive his Hollywood Walk of Fame honors in February. Variety reports that the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit star is scheduled to have his Walk of Fame star installed on Feb. 17. Ice-T has since reacted to the news with a post on Instagram, finding it surreal to be going from getting arrested in Hollywood to having his name placed on the Hollywood Walk of Fame....

IFC Films has announced that it has acquired U.S. rights to James Gunn’s Super after an all-night auction. IFC Films will release Super under its new IFC Midnight banner. Super was also written by James Gunn, and was produced by Miranda Bailey via her LA-based production company, Ambush Entertainment and Ted Hope, via his Gotham-based production company This is that. Ambush’s financing arm, Cold Iron Pictures, financed the film which was executive-produced by Matthew Leutwyler of Ambush Entertainment and Rainn Wilson....

It seems Image Entertainment has staved off the wolves… for now. In a story from Variety, Image won a proxy vote last week against Lionsgate, who owns 19% of the company, and his been trying to to take them over for the past year. Even though they lost, Lionsgate promised “to keep pressing” Image “for better shareholder value after Tuesday’s release of the official tally, which saw Image’s board of directors slate garnering 56% of votes, compared with a 38% to 43% tally for Lionsgate’s dissident candidates....

Marvel has had a tremendous amount of success with bringing their street-level heroes to Netflix. Though, even Marvel isn’t immune to mistakes. While fans generally liked Marvel’s Iron Fist season 1, there were a great many issues with the show’s first season. Namely, the lack of a classic costume on Danny Rand. However, Finn Jones, who plays the lead character on the show, teases that the classic Iron Fist costume could be making an appearance in season 2....

A new Hellraiser remake is in the works and apparently the makeup effects creator of the original Pinhead, Gary J. Turncliffe has yet to be asked to participate in the reboot. However, that didn’t stop him from redesigning Pinhead on spec and he gave an exclusive look at his new designs to Fangoria, along with Turncliffe talking about the new design.
