IMAX Corporation and Warner Bros. Pictures announced that Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix - the third Harry Potter film to be converted into IMAX’s format - will be simultaneously released to both IMAX and conventional theatres on July 13, 2007. The film is based on the best-selling J.K. Rowling book and is the fifth installment of the widely successful Harry Potter film series. The last installment of the series, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire which opened on November 18, 2005, shattered numerous IMAX 2D box office records and grossed more than $20 million in IMAX theatres worldwide....

Imagi Animation Studios announced that it has optioned rights from Tezuka Productions Company Limited (“Tezuka”) of Japan to produce a new CG animated feature length motion picture intended for theatrical release in 2009, based on the renowned anime franchise Astro Boy originally created by Osamu Tezuka. Originally known as Tetsuwan Atomu (translating into “Iron Fisted Atom”) in Japan, the franchise is best known by its American title Astro Boy. Astro Boy first appeared as a manga comic series in 1952, drawn by Osamu Tezuka, who is affectionately known as the “god of manga”....

SA Studios Global’s Film Marketing Division has teamed up with Quentin Tarantino, Upper Playground and The Weinstein Company to present The Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds. On February 18th, 2010 from 6p - 9p the world will get to preview and purchase the “Lost Art of Inglourious Basterds” at The Upper Playground Art Gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. All proceeds from this program will be donated to The American Red Cross to help the victims of the Haiti Earthquake....

Even before it has arrived on Disney+, She-Hulk Attorney at Law has had a fair share of negativity around it. The newest addition to John Travolta’s family is the puppy who made its television debut at the Academy Awards on Sunday night. During the ceremony, the In Memoriam segment featured a special tribute to late comedy legend Betty White. It included Jamie Lee Curtis holding a puppy named Mac and Cheese on the stage and encouraging viewers to adopt a pet to honor White, a known animal advocate. “She was not only a Golden Girl, she was a legend who brightened every room,” Curtis said....

Kaley Cuoco will star in Based on a True Story, a Peacock series from Craig Rosenberg, Deadline reports. The comedy thriller is inspired by a real-life event and follows a realtor, a plumber and a former tennis star whose “lives unexpectedly collide, exposing America’s obsession with true crime, murder and the slow close toilet seat.” Cuoco has been cast as Ava Bartley, a married woman. Other plot details and cast information remain unknown....

While in New York recently, the actor talked about working with his friend Michael Caine on The Dark Knight Rises. It was revealed that Alfred and Jim Gordon have an emotional scene together, with Oldman offering some insight into Michael Caine’s approach to acting, hinting that the man would rather be playing cricket than playing butler....

News of the Latinx dramedy Gentefied canceled on Netflix hit the creator family and everyone associated with the show understandably hard. Fans are sure to miss following the life of the Morales family as the three cousins struggle to fulfill their American dream. Linda Yvette Chávez, co-creator, executive producer, and showrunner of Gentefied, shared a personal essay Friday following Netflix’s decision to cancel the show after two seasons. The dramedy follows the Morales family, a humble Mexican American family including patriarch Pops (Joaquin Cosio) and his grandchildren, Erik Morales (JJ Soria), Chris (Carlos Santos), and Ana (Karrie Martin Lachney), as they live and love in the city of Los Angeles....
