The first TV show to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. has managed to keep a loyal following, but for many, it isn’t quite at the level they want it to be. Despite how some feel about it, the show is going to be returning for a fourth season on ABC this fall and will be having a presence at San Diego Comic Con. As it turns out, we may be getting a pretty big reveal about the show during the convention next month....

The comedy movie School of Rock is the pinnacle of Jack Black’s career in the actor’s own opinion. Next year, the classic film will officially be turning 20 years old, and the actor was recently asked about the upcoming anniversary in a new interview with Entertainment Tonight. Thinking back to working on that movie, Black has nothing but the fondest memories, and he in fact thinks of School of Rock as the highlight of his career....

Streaming service Hulu has just announced they’re moving forward with a John Grisham shared universe. As it sounds, they’ll be developing multiple television shows adapted from different Grisham novels for what they’re calling the “Grisham Universe.” They’ll be starting with companion series for The Rainmaker and Rogue Lawyer, with the potential of doing more in the future. The stories will be set in the same universe and will occasionally intersect, but the goal by the company is for each show to stand on their own....

Comedian John Mulaney will be joining the Saturday Night Live Five-Timers Club in February. Per TVLine, Mulaney is scheduled to return as host for the long-running sketch comedy series on its Feb. 26 episode. LCD Soundsystem also returns as the musical guest after a previous appearance in 2017. Previously, Mulaney worked as a comedy writer at SNL from 2008 to 2012, winning an Emmy Award during that time for his work....

John Schneider has signed on for the starring role in Doonby, about Sam Doonby, a happy-go-lucky drifter who takes up residence in a small Texas town but seems suspiciously immune to the misfortunes that beset the other townsfolk. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film is described as a cross between It’s a Wonderful Life and Crazy Heart and also stars Robert Davi as the town sheriff. Doonby is written and directed by British filmmaker Peter Mackenzie and will be shot at Spiderwood Studios near Austin....

John Stamos has been cast in the lead role in the Disney + original series, Big Shot, written and executive produced by David E. Kelley and Dean Lorey and produced by ABC Studios, a part of Disney Television Studios. Brad Garrett (Single Parents), who pitched the original idea to Kelley, is an executive producer on the one-hour dramedy, as is Bill D’Elia who will direct the first episode. The 10-episode series follows a temperamental college basketball coach (Stamos) who gets fired from his job and must take a teaching and coaching job at an elite all-girls private high school....

The ACLU wants paid after getting involved with the famous legal battle involving Johnny Depp and Amber Heard. Televised and streamed online for everyone in the world to see, the high-profile defamation trial ended with a jury agreeing that Heard had defamed Depp with “false and defamatory” allegations of domestic violence. She was ordered to pay $15 million in damages, though the amount was reduced to about $10 million due to Virginia law....

The latest poster for Pixar’s Lightyear has the beloved Space Ranger looking out into the star-spangled cosmos as he prepares to head off into the unknown and journey to infinity and beyond. Released courtesy of Disney and Pixar, this latest promo is joined by a pair of new images from Lightyear, which is due to land in theaters later this year. The first image from Lightyear depicts Buzz preparing to depart and head off into the unknown, while the second shows the Space Ranger discussing his upcoming mission with a fellow space exploring colleague....

Academy Award winner George Clooney stars in the title role of The American for director Anton Corbijn (Control). Focus Features holds worldwide rights to the suspense thriller, which begins production this week on location in Italy. Focus CEO James Schamus made the announcement today. The screenplay by Rowan Joffe is adapted from Martin Booth’s novel A Very Private Gentleman, published in 2005. The film’s producers are This is that’s Anne Carey, who most recently produced Adventureland and The Savages; Smokehouse’s Grant Heslov, an Academy Award nominee as producer and co-writer of Good Night, And Good Luck....

We reported back in January that Ghost Rider 2 was in the works and now a new story reveals that the film could go on without its original star. Vulture is reporting that Columbia Pictures wants to move forward with Ghost Rider 2 and if Nicolas Cage can’t commit to the film by the end of the year, they could end up making the film without him. It was said that if Columbia isn’t in production on the sequel by November 14 - the date the studio’s rights expire - the rights to the franchise would revert back to Marvel’s new owner, Disney....

You can bring home the first season of one of the hottest new series of this past TV season on DVD and Blu-ray this September. Glee: The Complete First Season will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on September 14. This seven-disc DVD set and four-disc BD set will contain all 22 episodes of this first season and the DVD set will be priced at $59.99 SRP and the Blu-ray set will be priced at $69....

Spider-Man 3 producer Grant Curtis has started a blog on the production of the film. He had posted on a blog on Spider-Man 2 and Sony has asked him to continue with this film.
