Fans of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies will remember that at one point Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord declared Kevin Bacon as one of the Earth’s greatest heroes, and it seems that could be about to lead to Bacon joining the Guardians in their upcoming Holiday Special later this year. New reports have suggested that Bacon has been seen on the set, and while there is no exact indication of which Guardians of the Galaxy project Bacon could be appearing in, a reference to Christmas decorations makes it a good shout for this year’s Disney+ special....

Director Guillermo del Toro’s long-desired adaptation of H. P. Lovecraft’s At the Mountains of Madness may have just found new life thanks to Netflix. According to a report by IndieWire, Del Toro has floated the idea of bringing the science fiction-horror novella to screens with stop-motion animation, even discussing his vision with VFX veteran Phil Tippett of The Empire Strikes Back and Jurassic Park fame. Of course, realizing the twisted tale of At the Mountains of Madness into stop-motion would take years....

Heat Vision reports that Harrison Ford is attached to star as an aging Wyatt Earp in Black Hats, an adaptation of a Max Allan Collins novel being produced by Thunder Road’s Basil Iwanyk and Jason Netter of Kickstart Productions. A brilliant, original thriller that re-creates an exciting and dangerous time in American history and brings together two storied and feared crime legends. The Prohibition era has just begun, the Wild West a fading memory, and Wyatt Earp is making ends meet as a detective in Los Angeles....

It’s been 25 years since Disney’s animated film, Hercules, was released in 1997. The movie was directed by John Musker and Ron Clements, the team behind hits like The Little Mermaid and Aladdin. The movie is a loose adaptation of myths about the Greek hero Hercules (Tate Donovan), as he journeys from outcast to hero, falls in love with Meg (Susan Egan), and defeats Hades (James Woods). Hercules performed well at the box office - though not as well as other Disney ventures - and received praise for its cast, while the music and design proved more divisive with critics....

Noah Baumbach’s movies are idolized by the pretentious hipster types, the film and graphic design students that have moved on from their initial infatuation with Wes Anderson in an attempt to deviate from mainstream film. If they’re sticking with upper-class, white, American malaise, these people eventually land at Baumbach, the cooler, more intellectually liberated younger brother. These are the people that up-sticks from their parent’s five-bed house in middle-class suburbia, and descend on Brooklyn or London’s East End....

There have been many actors in line to play James Bond, but certain names keep coming up time and time again. One of those is Idris Elba, but the actor is done answering the same question of whether or not he will be playing the super-spy anytime soon. While speaking in a recent interview, Elba, who is currently starring in the action thriller Beast, called out those who constantly ask him the same James Bond question, saying it is nothing more than “lazy journalism....

The estate of the man who helped create some of the most memorable comic book characters in history is taking up a legal battle. According to The New York Times, the estate of comic book legend Jack Kirby has sent out notices of copyright termination to Marvel, Sony, Universal, Fox and other studios who have produced films based off his characters. The estate sent out 45 copyright termination notices last week, and they state the desire of Kirby’s estate to retain copyrights on characters he created by the year 2014....

Legendary actress Jane Seymour will guest-star in three episodes of the new ABC comedy series, In Case of Emergency. Her first episode airs WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 14 (9:30-10:00 p.m., ET/PT). Seymour will play Jason’s (David Arquette) mother, Donna. In her first episode, “Oh, Henry!,” Jason, on the verge of going to jail, can cut a deal if he rats on his Uncle Henry, who happens to be Donna’s favorite brother. Jason begs Harry (Jonathan Silverman) to help him with Donna because she always favored Harry over him....

After a car fire injured Jay Leno earlier this month, the funnyman has been released from the hospital, likely feeling grateful that the situation hadn’t turned out much worse. On Nov. 14, it was reported that Leno had been working on a fuel line for his 1907 White Steam Car in his garage when the automobile suddenly burst into flames. The accident resulted in Leno suffering a “mix of deep second and possibly third-degree burns” to his face, chest, and hands, according to the Grossman Burn Center’s Dr....

The third season of USA’s hit spy-series, Burn Notice, is coming to an end this week with Episode 3.16: “Devil You Know”, which has some huge consequences for it’s lead character Michael Weston. Michael’s worst fears come to life when a world-class terrorist is unleashed on Miami, threatening to detonate a bomb if Michael doesn’t give him what he wants. Jenna Fischer (The Office, Blades of Glory) will star in The Giant Mechanical Man which begins production in Detroit later this month. Fischer is also producing alongside Molly Hassell (Vamps, Edmond), Michael Nardelli and Brent Stiefel (Grassroots). Written and directed by Lee Kirk, the film also stars Topher Grace (Predators, Valentine’s Day, Spider-Man 3), Malin Akerman (Couples Retreat, Watchmen) and Chris Messina (Greenberg, Julie & Julia, Vicky Cristina Barcelona). The Giant Mechanical Man is an offbeat romantic comedy about two outsiders – a misunderstood street performer (Chris Messina) and the soft spoken zoo worker who falls for him....

The Suicide Squad star Joel Kinnaman has discussed filming the upcoming action movie Silent Night with legendary director John Woo. Unlike the movie itself, which will feature no dialogue whatsoever, Kinnaman has used his words to heap praise on working with Woo, with Silent Night marking the beloved Face/Off filmmaker’s return to Hollywood after almost two decades. John Woo’s affinity for telling the story with just a camera will come in handy when making Silent Night, which finds Joel Kinnaman as a father on a mission to avenge his young son who was tragically caught in the crossfire of gang violence on Christmas Eve....

According to The Hollywood Reporter, King Kong and The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe battled for the four-day boxoffice crown with the giant ape finally swiping the Christmas holiday prize. A Sunday night surge gave Universal’s King Kong the needed push for the No. 1 spot with over the Friday-through-Monday period with about $31.4 million, edging Buena Vista’s Chronicles of Narnia estimated $30.1 million take....

Finally, a breath of fresh air arrives in the stale summer of sequels. Judd Apatow’s “Knocked Up” is an absolute winner. It’s funny as hell, but never lets the raunchy humor get away from the clever and heartwarming story. The premise is highly original. Katherine Heigl stars as Alison, a beautiful production assistant who lands a major promotion at the ‘E’ television channel. She decides to celebrate by going to a club with her older sister, Debbie (Leslie Mann in the best performance of her career)....

Recently, I had the chance to speak with Larry the Cable Guy about his new film Larry The Cable Guy: Health Inspector. He is one funny guy! We got on the topic of the Disney/Pixar film, Cars. Larry voices one of the characters, Mater. He said how much fun the process was getting ready for the film. He even had the chance to change some of the lines to fit his personality....

The worlds of Marvel and DC comic books are divided into their out and out superheroes, lesser-known heroes, anti-heroes and their very firmly supernatural and horror-based content. For DC, the latter of these was fully realized in 2011 when the New 52 launch brought a new team to the fore with Justice League Dark, a group that would over time consist of staple supernatural characters such as John Constantine, Deadman, Madame Xanadu, Zatanna and Swamp Thing among others....
