In Aquaman, James Wan brought a dark and horrifying world to life in a sequence involving The Trench, a deadly area of the ocean filled with bloodthirsty monsters that Arthur Curry must fight his way through towards the end of the movie. As well as a sequel, Aquaman was initially to have a spin-off movie that would have seen Yahya Abdul-Mateen II’s Black Manta villain taking the lead in a story that would have expanded what we know about the terrifying world under the sea....

Jimmy Kimmel took to his late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live to address Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Best Picture snub at the Academy Awards. This is based on the immense financial success of the film as well as its universal praise with fans and critics alike....

Back in April, director Kevin Smith’s episode of The Flash aired, which was highly praised by both fans and critics alike. Last month, the filmmaker revealed on his Hollywood Babble-On podcast that this episode suddenly started leading to a lot more opportunities on the small screen, with MGM reaching out to him to gauge his interest in making a TV series based on the 1984 cult classic film The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension....
When one reviews the spy-flick landscape, the Sean Connery’s and Daniel Craig’s naturally spring to mind, as they glide around affluent pockets of the globe chasing international criminal organizations, sipping on shaken (not stirred) Martinis, and breaking foreign speed limits in their kitted-out Aston Martins. The glamorous and numerous Bond movies have skewered the worldview of what it is and means to be a spy, and while the introduction of Jason Bourne in the early millennium helped to offset the status quo developed over decades of Bond’s elaborate displays of chauvinism, with his humble 1989 Mini Mayfair and standard leather jacket and a black T-shirt, the franchise definitely takes spy movies to an even darker place....

HD-DVD players appear to be fine but it’s the movies themselves that are causing some problems. First off, in a story from Video Business, they say that The Last Samurai and Phantom of the Opera “were widely available.” However, it seems that Million Dollar Baby is being delayed. Also, it appears that Serenity discs haven’t shown up in some stores. “This would be amusing if I wasn’t so scared that this is the way that [HD DVD] is going to be rolled out” said New England’s Newbury Comics buyer Ian Leshin....
