Starring Ryan Reynolds as the main character, Guy, the film enters the world of video games through his perspective. Guy is a non-playable character (NPC) who breaks free of his coding and quickly begins to figure out how the game built in the world around him works. All is not as it seems, however, as he works with a player named Molotov Girl trying to find a secret hidden feature in the game that is vital to keep it and all of his NPC friends alive....

Over the weekend, Variety reported that Paramount’s Smile topped the domestic box office with $22 million. The horror film documenting a frown that’s been turned upside down was released on September 30, attracting an audience that was 52% male, while the bulk of ticket buyers, which was about 68%, ranged in age from 18 to 34. It also has the distinction of beating out the other new wide release last weekend....

CBS All Access has released the official trailer and key art for its original true crime series, Interrogation. With all 10 episodes dropping on Thursday, Feb. 6, viewers will see the day of the crime and then follow the evidence like a cold case detective, abandon the linear narrative and determine their own investigative path by watching the episodes leading up to the finale in any order. The trailer and key art debuted during the CBS All Access Interrogation panel at the biannual Television Critics Association presentation in Pasadena, Calif....

Italian Studies follows an amnesiac British woman as she wanders through a vibrant New York City on the Fourth of July. The film is shot in a New Wave style without a structured narrative. A cacophony of urban sounds, stream of conscious imagery, and fractured dialogue ebbs and flows like a lucid dream. Italian Studies has some merit as an art-house experience but feels superficial. The fantastical nature of the character’s journey isn’t interesting or compelling....

J.J. Abrams’ run of TV misfortune seems to be continuing. Following reports of Warner Bros. disappointment at the lack of output from their deal with the filmmaker, it seems that his long-in-development Apple TV+ series My Glory Was I Had Such Friends has fallen by the wayside with the departure of star Jennifer Garner. Abrams and Garner previously worked together on the hit series Alias, but it seems that a scheduling conflict has seen Garner drop out of the lead role and Apple TV+ decide to cut their losses on the show, according to Deadline....

Acclaimed horror director Christopher Smith’s newest film, Consecration, just dropped a chilling trailer today, with actress Jena Malone’s character investigating a convent where her brother allegedly committed suicide. Taking place in an isolated convent in Scotland, the atmosphere becomes immediately eerie while the nuns continue their daily rites. It’s hinted that Grace’s character is “a woman of science” and doesn’t share the same lifestyle or beliefs as the nuns there, although the trailer reveals her taking part in some sort of ritual with the clergywomen....

While actor Jeremy Renner is still in the ICU following a freak accident that left him critically injured, his spirits seem to be high as seen in a new video shared online. On New Year’s Day, Renner was hospitalized when the Sno-Cat he was using had wound up running him over, causing extensive injuries. He has since returned to social media to thank fans for the support, and on Thursday, Renner shared a new video of himself in the ICU with some family present to help him with feel better....

The John Wick series is going big with the upcoming fourth installment, John Wick: Chapter 4. After multiple delays, the highly-anticipated sequel is set to arrive in movie theaters on March 24, 2023. With Keanu Reeves back in the lead role to undoubtedly raise his body count number by a few dozen, Chad Stahelski also returns to the director’s chair after directing all three prior films. ‘I am McLovin.’ The line is one of the most iconic to come from the comedy Superbad.
