Amy Adams came on the scene with a terrific performance in the film “Junebug,” which earned her an Oscar nomination and critical acclaim but it took her leading role in the romantic fairytale comedy “Enchanted” to really make her a star. Since then it seems that the actress can be found almost everywhere in a large array of different roles in different films such as the family comedy “Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian” in which she played flying legend Amelia Earhart, the drama “Doubt” which earned the actress a second Oscar nomination and most recently “Julie & Julia” opposite acting legend Meryl Streep....

Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill and Joseph Cross are in negotiations to join the cast of DreamWorks Studios’ Lincoln, it was announced today by DreamWorks partners Steven Spielberg and Stacey Snider. Also in negotiations to join the film are David Costabile, Byron Jennings, Dakin Matthews, Boris McGiver, Gloria Reuben, Jeremy Strong, and David Warshofsky. This group joins the previously announced casting of Daniel Day-Lewis and Sally Field in the Spielberg directed film about the 16th President of the United States....

Director Gary Ross may have found his follow-up to the spring blockbuster The Hunger Games with Disney’s Peter and the Starcatchers. The story is set up as a prequel to the J.M. Barrie classic Peter Pan. The plot follows Peter, who meets a young girl named Molly on a Neverland ship. Molly tells Peter about a trunk of magical “starstuff” that must never be retrieved by “Black Stache,” the name Captain Hook went by before losing his hand....

There have been many what-might-have-been stories about the Star Wars franchise, but that doesn’t mean that all the lost plans for the franchise are still waiting to be told. In a recent interview with /Film Star Wars: The Clone Wars writer Henry Gilroy revealed how George Lucas considered making a significant change to the character of General Grievous in Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, which would have seen the character actually being previous Star Wars villain Darth Maul in disguise....

Since the original novel, A Game of Thrones, was published in 1996, four more books have been released, one TV series has started and finished, one spinoff prequel series is debuting next month, and several prequel novellas from the author have made their way to readers. The Game of Thrones franchise seems to be ever-expanding, even if the forthcoming novels The Winds of Winter and A Dream of Spring have yet to be published despite the fifth novel in the series releasing over a decade ago....

The highly anticipated sitcom Girl Meets World, a spin-off of the popular 1990s comedy Boy Meets World, has been picked up to series by The Disney Channel. Production will begin later this summer in Los Angeles, with a 2014 debut planned. This sequel is set several years after Boy Meets World, following Riley (Rowan Blanchard), the young daughter of Cory (Ben Savage) and Topanga (Danielle Fishel). Two first look photos have arrived from the set, featuring Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Riley’s best friend Maya....

Henry Cavill’s return as Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes 2 has already got many fans hot under the collar, and the Man of Steel actor has explained why he wanted to come back for the Millie Bobby Brown-led Netflix sequel. While there are plenty of rumors doing the rounds right now about Cavill’s possible return as Superman in DC’s Black Adam and the actor is also working on season 3 of The Witcher, Cavill’s turn as the iconic detective Sherlock Holmes is one that has been glad to return to, but emphasized that it is also a role that he wanted to get just right....

Man of Steel star Henry Cavill has once again declared his interest in continuing the story of his iteration of Superman, with the actor saying that the comic book icon’s transformation from evil overlord to beacon of hope is still something he would be very “keen to flesh out." The highly anticipated second season of House of the Dragon is set to begin filming on March 6, according to the Film & Television Industry Alliance’s Production List. Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood novel, the series serves as a prequel to the popular Game of Thrones and chronicles the fall of the House Targaryen 200 years before the events of the original series. J.J. Abrams is having quite a good week, with the news that he will direct Star Wars: Episode VII, and now with a report that two pilots he is executive producing have landed at NBC and Fox. NBC issued a pilot order for Believe, written by Alfonso Cuarón and Mark Friedman (Home of the Brave). The story centers on a young girl who possesses supernatural powers, which will not be fully developed for another seven years....

James Bond has always been associated with cool cars, even when he was just a fictional character in a collection of novels, before making the leap to film. Now with 25 movies in the series over the past 60 years, six different Bond actors (and their stunt doubles) have driven dozens of vehicles on-screen, from an underpowered Citroën 2CV to a Caterpillar excavator to a moon buggy. The latest film, No Time To Die, saw Bond choosing a Land Rover in retirement....

Dreams really do come true, at least for fans of American Horror Story, FX’s megahit anthology series launched by showrunner Ryan Murphy in 2011. We got word late yesterday afternoon that former franchise mainstay Jessica Lange will be returning in September for Season 8, a crossover of Season 1 (Murder House) and Season 3 (Coven) dubbed Apocalypse! Considering Lange was integral to both seasons, her return is something fans have been hoping for, even though the actress departed the series after Season 4 (Hotel)....

On the 14th of September in 2006 … Jim Carrey and Steve Carell joined the HORTON film mix. The two comedy superstars will headline the cast of voices for Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who, a new CG animated feature film from 20th Century Fox Animation, the makers of the Ice Age films. Carrey, who previously inhabited the world of Dr. Seuss as the title character in the smash hit The Grinch" will voice the role of the immortal Horton, the elephant who knows that a person’s a person, no matter how small....

Joel Coen and Ethan Coen had made it known that their next project after True Grit would be music-related, but they offered no other details. Now, an insider has come forward to reveal that the brothers are actually making a movie about the Greenwhich Village folk scene, and that it will be loosely based on singer Dave van Ronk. Dave van Ronk is considered the patriarch of New York City’s burgeoning coffee house scene in the mid-20th Century....

New Line Cinema has inked a deal with Hairspray creator John Waters to write a treatment for a sequel to 2007’s hit musical feature, according to Variety. Planning to return are director-choreographer Adam Shankman, producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Tony-winning songwriters Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, who will write new songs for the film. No cast has been engaged yet, and none of the stars of Hairspray had sequel options....
