HBO picked up two series - the Linda Bloodworth-Thomason one-hour comedy, 12 Miles of Bad Road and the half-hour drama, In Treatment from Mark Wahlberg, Stephen Levinson, and Noa Tishby. Lily Tomlin stars in 12 Miles as the matriarch of a wealthy Texas family whose real estate business and absurd wealth complicate the simplest family matters, says The Hollywood Reporter. Gary Cole, Mary Kay Place, Katherine LaNasa, Kim Dickens, Eliza Coupe, Leslie Jordan, Ivana Milicevic, David Andrews, Sean Bridgers, Texas Battle and Cameron Richardson also star in 12 Miles of Bad Road....

With the show set to kick off Season 12 this Friday, HBO has renewed Real Time with Bill Maher for Season 13 with 35 editions, to begin in Jan. 2015, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO programming, who released the following statement. Bill Maher had this to say in his own statement. “Bill Maher has been a treasured member of the HBO family since the late ’80s, and his irreverent wit and fearless insights make him the perfect observer for these unpredictable times....

On a quick glance Saving Grace could be summed up as The Closer meets Touched by an Angel, but pulling back you quickly realize that the only Touched by an Angel reference it has is the actual winged deity played by Leon Rippy (Deadwood). Instead it tries to be Saving Grace but different. I hate using this analogy but it’s like comparing CSI: Miami to CSI. I have to use this reference because of the infinite parallels that kept popping in my mind....

A brand new trailer for House of Cards season 6 is here and it simply doesn’t care that Kevin Spacey is no longer going to be taking part. Spacey served as the show’s lead for five seasons but, following a wave of sexual misconduct allegations, Netflix parted ways with the once-celebrated actor and promoted Robin Wright to the series lead. Based on this trailer, that may have proved to be an excellent decision, as her first words in the trailer cut like a knife....

Disney’s latest, Invincible - the true story of Vince Papale, a 30-year-old bartender who played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 1976. The film ran over the competition finishing in first place with $17 million. Invincible stars Mark Wahlberg as Vince, and Greg Kinnear as Eagles head coach Dick Vermeil. Coming in second place, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby. The Will Ferrell flick took in $8 million over the weekend, for a four week total of $127 million; last week leading into the weekend, with the help of this film passed the $1 billion dollar mark....

Big news is on the horizon for fans of Invincible. After creating the original comic book series with Cory Walker and Ryan Ottley, Robert Kirkman developed Invincible for Prime Video as an adult animated series. The series premiered in March 2021, and after garnering high viewership and critical acclaim, it was given a renewal through season 3 on Prime Video. Animation takes time, however, and it has since been unclear as to when fans can expect to see new episodes of Invincible....

Edward Norton has been deeply involved with the production of The Incredible Hulk, from starring in the film as Bruce Banner/The Incredible, to working on rewrites of Zak Penn’s script, and now he is clashing with Marvel Studios and director Louis Leterrier over the final cut of the film. According to Nikki Finke at Deadline Hollywood, Norton is currently holed up with Marvel Studios chairman David Maisel, Marvel Studios president of production Kevin Feige and Leterrier to find a solution....

Entertainment Weekly recently confirmed James Cameron’s next movie: Project 880. During a recent chat with the director, the manazine found out that Battle Angel, based on Yukito Kishiro’s Japanese graphic novels, will not be Cameron’s next project as previously speculated, but instead will be a film known as Project 880 which plans to use motion-captured, CGI generated characters in leading roles. What is Project 880? Don’t ask Cameron: ‘‘It’s as classified,’’ he says, ‘‘as the Manhattan Project....

We are just a couple of weeks away from the arrival of Peacemaker on HBO Max and another still released from the series has revealed a new closer look at Nhut Le’s character Judomaster. Despite the DCEU being in existence for just short of a decade, Peacemaker is the first TV series based in the franchise and also comes on the back of its most recent movie, The Suicide Squad, and follows John Cena’s Christopher Smith/Peacemaker in an exploration of his origins and missions after the events of the film....

Jason Blum and James Wan gave an update on several potential horror movie sequels that they could make during a joint interview for The Hollywood Reporter. Between their two companies, Blumhouse and Atomic Monster, they’ve been responsible for some of the best horror movies of the last decade. For instance, two hits from Blumhouse were Freaky and Happy Death Day. Both films were horror comedies directed by Christopher Landon and provided a twist on a classic comedy trope....

Fox has picked up the Jamie Foxx Project (working title), a half-hour sketch-comedy series executive-produced by Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx and set to debut in primetime during the 2010-2011 season. Actor and sketch-comedy star Affion Crockett - whose incisive web shorts have created a cult following - will star in and also serve as a producer of this fast-paced series. “Jamie Foxx’s brilliance first shined on Fox, so it’s fantastic to welcome him back to the network,” said Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company....

Jane Campion has opened up about The Power of the Dog, leaving almost empty-handed at this year’s Academy Awards. The film garnered the most nominations (12) and was the favorite in several categories, having swept all the major awards leading up to the Oscars. But surprisingly, Apple’s indie drama CODA bagged the coveted Academy Award for Best Picture while Campion walked away with the Best Director Oscar, The Power of the Dog’s only win that controversial night....

Actor Jason Momoa has teased a possible return to the Dune franchise. However, it won’t be in Dune: Part Two. Speaking with GQ, Momoa discussed his character’s fate in the first Dune, and how, thanks to the novel’s sequels and the science fiction gizmos within them, we may not have seen the last of the superbly named Duncan Idaho. However, it would require an adaptation of Frank Herbert’s book Dune: Messiah....

We are coming up on the release of The Munsters, an all-new movie reimagining the classic television monster family. From writer-director Rob Zombie, the film’s cast includes Jeff Daniel Phillips playing a new version of Herman Munster alongside Sheri Moon Zombie as Lily. Dan Roebuck also stars as Grandpa, aka The Count, with the film focusing on the way Herman and Lily originally met. In a new interview with Geek Vibes Nation to promote the film, Phillips spoke about what it was like to play the role of Herman....

You can bring home a demonic Megan Fox home on DVD and Blu-ray just before the new year. Jennifer’s Body will be released on DVD and Blu-ray on December 29. The standard DVD will be priced at $29.98 SRP while the Blu-ray, which comes with a Digital Copy, will be priced at $39.99 SRP. Today brings about some very sad news as the world-renowned racer, metal fabricator, and television personality Jessi Combs has passed away at the age of 36. Known professionally as the “Fastest Woman on Four Wheels,” Combs was attempting to surpass her previous land speed record when the 52,000 horsepower jet-powered car she was driving crashed in Oregon’s Alvord Desert. “It may seem a little crazy to walk directly into the line of fire… those who are willing, are those who achieve great things,” Combs wrote just days prior to the accident on her Twitter account in preparation for the stunt....

As noted by The Hollywood Reporter, the trailer for season 4 of Netflix’s hit series You shows Penn Badgley’s Joe Goldberg taking on a new persona in a new country. The full trailer, which is set to Hidden Citizens’ “I Ran (So Far Away),” offers fans of the show a two-and-a-half-minute look at what’s to come in the fourth season of the popular thriller series. In the freshly released trailer, Joe Goldberg (now under the alias Professor Jonathan Moore) is exploring his new life in London, attempting to reconnect with an uninterested Marienne Bellamy, and (in a surprising twist) has found himself with a stalker of his own....

Rarely has a film lived up to its title so well. Producer turned director Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) adapts Mark Millar’s comic, Kick-Ass, to absolute glory. It is a shot of pure adrenaline, with enough twists and shocks to make you thirst for the inevitable sequel. The plot, at first, seems fairly simple. Dave Lizewski (Aaron Johnson) is your average Queens, New York high school nerd. Girls don’t have a clue he exists....

Director Rian Johnson has pulled back the curtain just a little on the enigmatic Knives Out detective played by Daniel Craig, revealing that Benoit Blanc is gay. Revealed courtesy of The Digital Fix, Johnson was asked about Blanc’s sexuality while appearing at the London Film Festival after a scene from the upcoming sequel Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery showed the detective living with another man.
