Filmmaker Stuart Beattie has signed onto write and direct I, Frankenstein for Lakeshore Entertainment. The project was originally set for Patrick Tatopoulos to direct from Kevin Grevioux’s screenplay, which he adapted from his own graphic novel. The story centers on the town of Darkhaven, where Frankenstein and several other legendary monsters dwell beneath the city’s surface. Frankenstein stands alone as the city’s sole protector, fighting off the creatures who are trying to escape and usher in a new level of chaos to the humans above....

Is Apple looking to get into the rental biz? In a story from Mashable.com, it appears that Apple Inc. is talking to “several movie studios” about creating a rental component to their iTunes web portal Home Media Magazine states that the way this would break down is that “Apple would begin offering the rentals in the fall, with a $2.99 fee for a 30-day rental. iPod and iPhone users would be able to download the movies, however the movies would not be viewable on non-Apple products....
It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia has just been renewed through season 18 FX, breaking its own record as the longest-running live-action comedy of all time. The announcement was made by FX chairman John Landgraf at Disney’s Investor Day Presentation on Thursday. Earlier this year, the series had already set a new record when it was renewed for season 15, surpassing the 14-season run by the classic ABC series The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet....

Iconic talk show host Larry King has been hospitalized as the 87-year-old battles Covid-19. The Good An ambitiously, zany show. The Bad No commentary tracks. Not as many extras as there appear to be on the packaging. The Ghost Busters: The Complete Series is a very thrown together, mishmash of a show featuring Spenser (Larry Storch), Kong (Forrest Tucker) and their brilliant gorilla Tracy (Bob Burns) as detectives. They get their missions from “Zero” and they usually find themselves going up against things like phantoms, vampires, Frankenstein monsters and anything else producer Lou Scheimer felt like throwing into the pot....
Fans of ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. were even more excited coming into Season 4, since the show added the iconic Marvel character Ghost Rider. This incarnation is Robbie Reyes, played by Gabriel Luna, who drives a classic 1969 Dodge Charger, instead of riding a motorcycle like the Johnny Blaze version.
