Lauren Oyler’s iconic conspiracy theory novel Fake Accounts is about to get a TV Series adaptation at the hands of High Maintenance creator Ben Sinclair and noted playwright Jen Silverman, famed writer of the Netflix drama series Tales of the City. The duo is currently developing the project, which will be produced by Ozark star Julia Garner through her new production banner, with Anonymous Content’s AC Studios developing the series....

But one man can only move so fast, and with Fast & Furious 6 and Terminator 5 moving forward at an expedient rate, Lin had to drop Summit Entertainment’s Highlander remake from his roster. We haven’t heard anything about The Toxic Avenger remake since November 2010, when Steve Pink signed on to direct. Today, we have word that John Travolta may be attached to star. There is no word on whom he will be playing if this rumor is correct, though he seems a tad old to be taking on the title role. Actor Jeremy Renner is branching out into the production side, forming a new company called The Combine where he will develop a biopic on legendary actor Steve McQueen. Jeremy Renner plans to both produce the untitled biopic and star as Steve McQueen. Ivan Zacharias, a music video director, will make his feature directorial debut on this project, working from a script by James Gray (We Own the Night). The script will be adapted from two books on the actor by Marshall Terrill entitled Portrait of an American Rebel and The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon....

Joshua Jackson has boarded the Fatal Attraction reboot series in development at Paramount+. Per Deadline, the Dr. Death star will co-star with Lizzy Caplan (Castle Rock) in a series reimagining of Fatal Attraction, the classic thriller movie that starred Michael Douglas and Glenn Close. Jackson and Caplan will be taking on similar roles in the new adaptation. “Joshua is an incredible talent who creates beautifully complicated characters on both the screen and stage,” said Nicole Clemens, President, Paramount+ Original Scripted Series....

Keith Olbermann, host of MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olbermann has been tapped to moderate the AFL-CIO’s Democratic Presidential Forum on August 7. The forum will telecast and stream live on MSNBC and MSNBC.com from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. (ET). More than 5,000 union members and their families from around the country will attend the forum at McCormick Place West in Chicago, to hear top Democratic candidates spell out their vision for the nation....
